man, i loved those games. i take pride in having patiently finished EVERY ONE of those games that i played, but i cant help but think that i missed a few. help me remember which ones? the list of completed adventures is:
Monkey Island 1,2,3
Indiana Jones And The Fate of Atlantis
Sam and Max Hit the Road
Grim Fandango
Maniac Mansion
Day of The Tenticle
also, if anyone can tell me where copies of this game exist for downloading purposes, i would greatly appreciate that too
-
I think the only one I ever played was Monkey Island. I couldn't even tell you which it was.
Great game though from what I remember.
-
I think the site Game tap can help you with that
and they have even started a new Sam and Max series on there
-
I have only played Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, which is one of the best overall game experiences I've ever played. It was one of the few times my sister really got into a game, and we would sit side-by-side at our computer trying to figure out what the hell to do next.
-
I've played all of those. Best games ever.
-
Beneath a Steel Sky
Yeah yeah, it's not Lucas Arts, but it runs in ScummVM so I'm gonna count it. It's one of the best adventure experiences you'll ever have, and it's freeware.
also check http://www.the-underdogs.info/ for other freeware games. If there's any lucasarts games you ahven't played, they'll most likely be there.
-
I actually never played any of those games except for Maniac Mansion, and even then I was so young at the time I couldn't really figure out what to do.
LucasArts should release some sort of classic compilation like every other publisher ever does. I'd buy it.
-
You missed Full Throttle. Great game btw.
Just google "abandonware" and you should find some sites that host most of those old games for free.
If not, there's always Bit Torrent
-
Sam & Max Hit The Road was and still is one of my favourite adventure games ever. Awesome voice acting, hilarious and deep levels of interaction and superb writing.
-
If anyone knows where I can find Indiana Jones and Sam & Max for free, without resorting to BitTorrent nonsense, please speak up.
-
Both games are on yousendit. Scrambled Gregs, I'll PM you the links in a bit. Anyone else interested in Sam & Max Hit the Road or Indiana Jones: The Fate of Atlantis, PM me.
-
you sir, are a legend. let me know if you find any others
-
Mmm. Maniac Mansion ^_^
My first adventure game.
I think Zak McKracken was from the same studio/engine?
I played also, umm, Legend of Kyrandia, but that was probably Westwood, not Lucasarts.
-
All of these games are so incredibly awesome, especially Maniac Mansion, Sam & Max and Day of the Tentacle.
Download-wise, I think you're pretty much covered, though I think I still have Sam & Max (the old one, of course - the new is awesome too, buy it!) somewhere lying around. If you want it, PM me, I'll upload it or something.
In case it won't play properly: ScummVM (http://www.scummvm.org)! Seriously, it's awesome. ... It also works on your Series 60 Nokia phone.
You can also download Beneath a Steel Sky there.

Maybe I missed it in the original post or others following it, but what about Monkey Island 4 a.k.a. Escape from Monkey Island?
3-D rendered Guybrush for the win.
Edit: By the way, I point you to my signature, which was NOT actually inspired by this thread.
-
i never played the fourth monkey island game
:(
-
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I think it ties CMI (MI3) for my favorite. I think it has something to do with Guybrush's voice-acting. Just cracks me up. Monkey Kombat "pwned" me the first time around, but the game is definitely worth checking out. You can probably find it in bargain bins for $9.99 these days.
And in the meantime, I'll continue to google "Monkey Island 5" every six months or so, until I see something promising from LucasArts.
