Title: WoW on a Mac.
Post by: Grawsith on 24 Dec 2006, 08:24
A MacBook, specifically. Is there anything i need to know? Like, differences in control / graphics / things like that? I've played it on my PC for a while now, so I thought I'd ask you guys while the 400 mb patch is downloading.

Thanks in advance.

LOL YOU CANT RIGHT CLICK HOW WILL YOU PLAY!??!

in all seriousness, ive never tried on a mac (typing from an ibook) but id imagine the integrated graphics might bog things down abit from what youre used to (if you had a powerhouse or even mid level pc)

Also, if you're using the background downloader, don't. Find a torrent or a mirror.

from what I've heard, WoW is preferable on a PC.  but still completely playable on a Mac.  maybe a jumpier framerate.  I'd invest in a two-button mouse.

Should be fine, particularly after the speed boost in the recent patch (threaded gl ftw). That said, your macbook has integrated graphics, so it's not going to be great.

I hear from my cousin that the reason that his friend got a mac was to play World of Warcraft

I play on a mac all the time.

It runs fine, but get yourself a two button mouse.
