Metalocalypse is a great show, but I think I built it up too much in my mind before it came out. I can't help but feel a bit disappointed by it considering its potential. Some of the moments in that show are still brilliant, and the pilot is probably the funniest 11 minutes I've ever seen on television.

The pilot was unhealthily funny. The series is more erratic, but still damn good. The animation is fucking slick, the voice acting's great and the whole thing is METAL AS HELL. It's worth saying that they did deliberately tone down the funny for some kick-assness at some points: The season finale is only mildly funny, but its unbelievably awesome.

The world needs more Conan parodies.  Korgoth of Barbaria only had a pilot episode, they haven't made it into a show yet, and a lot of those dumbass anime kids on the adult swim forums didn't like it, saying (insert anime here) should be rotated on to the schedule...so it's doubtful we'll see any more of it in the future.

I think the best part is just how much of a contrast the show is to Home Movies. Like its obvious Brendon Small is one hell of a metalhead, and now whenever I watch Home Movies, I just know that Dwayne is Brendon Small putting himself in his own cartoon.

Also, the DVD is probably not going to get a R4 release. I am going to be extremely angry about this. If I'm lucky it'll get a UK release and I'll only have to get an all-regions DVD player to watch it. Otherwise I'll have to get a whole new fancy NTSC compatible TV to watch it.

i loved it when they bashed acoustic instruments in the Dethtroll episode.  and that whole thing about none of them can read music, and Pickles found guitar tablature in an ancient music book.

i thought that was brilliant

The best part about that though is when they're jamming on the grandpa instruments, and when Nathan asks them how they can play if they can't read music Toki's reply is "We just hit any old note, is old music school trick"

Or simply the first time the intro scene plays.

Okay, yeah, it is actually pretty hard. SO MANY AWESOME MOMENTS.

Gotta say my two favorite moments were Toki in the Satanic church and all of them in the hot tub in the spelling bee episode.

Yeah,  Senator Stampington, Mr. Selacia, Jean-Pierre and Dr. Twinkletits are his main parts, I think he does others as well, some of the news-readers for example.
