This is good news. I have been telling DLR for years "you need to FINISH WHAT YA STARTED"

And yes, I know its a Sammy Hagar song.

I wasn't aware anyone but people obsessed with reliving their 80s young adulthood gave a shit about Van Halen.

Actually, I still love their music, but I just think Eddie Van Halen has turned into a huge asshole in his old age.

The music's fantastic (even for those of us who weren't young adults in the 80's), but you're right, the whole soap opera surrounding the band got stale a decade ago, and Eddie's a dick.  It takes a special amount of hubris to hire your 15-year old kid as your 30-year old band's new bassist.

Haha, I thought the same thing, Tommy, though not in the context of The Ramones.

I'd suggest Eddie gets his wife on the lead vocals next tour, but I believe she still goes by her maiden name and not Van Halen, so... she's out of the picture.  Actually, I'm amazed he doesn't divorce her just because of that.  And then blame his lung cancer on her.

I'm disappointed that they aren't quite the Ramones.

I could see you running into problems by applying this to non-Ramones bands.

You know it's a sad day when someone says they're not a fan of Van Halen because they're "too young."

From all accounts, Wolfgang Van Halen is a pretty good bass player. Of course, all accounts are from Eddie himself.

Still, I think it's pretty cool myself. If I were still playing in bands and my son were good enough, I'd love to play with him.
