Okay guys, in light of recent wishes from a certain few individuals in the Rap Battle thread, I've decided to open up a myspace (www.myspace.com/qcriffs (http://www.myspace.com/qcriffs)) for the hosting of (downloadable, please) riffs for similar battles, as well as a thread for the entry links to be posted.
Basic idea:
- Participants are only allowed to do work as a single person or in pairs
- Entries must be the work of registered forumites. We know you may know Snoop but we don't want him doing your beats, we want YOU doing your beats.
- Riffs can be played on any instrument.
- All songs must contain the riff in some discernable form.
- After winning a battle, the winning person/duo creates a simple riff and hosts the sound file as an mp3 file on the myspace (PM me for the password, the email's [email protected])
Only two songs should show up on the myspace page. These should be the previous month's winner and the current competition's riff. The competition begins upon the decision of who wins the Rap Battle thread.
Winner doesn't really get anything but bragging rights and a bit of practice at making a sow's ear out of a silk purse.
-
Count me in for it.
Will the first riff be determined by the winner of the current rap battle thing?
-
Yep!
-
- Riffs can be played on any instrument.
If I win, the instrument is going to be a washing machine.
-
can we have khar win the next round by default?
-
We'll see. :B
-
I'm not pissing away my awesome song on some pre-determined victory for Khar!
-
Come on guys, we need a clear victory in the previous thread for this thread to really get anywhere. LET'S GET THIS SHOW ON THE ROAD.
-
*cough*
So... Mr Dynamite... you won didn't you?
-
I'm kinda up for this, as long as I get to lay down some bad-ass seven-stringage..
-
Yes I did win. But KimJongSick is currently in a differnet country to his computer and so can't upload the riff to the myspace.
I have a drumbeat that we can use. I'm going to upload it as a short sample that you can copy and paste so it loops in audacity, or whatever. But anyway, I'll have it up soon.

Sorry, DK. I'll be back home to LOLbania on March 27 or so. Until then, though, I have to give the common courtesy of not saving stuff to other people's hard drives.
Please do keep this thing alive though, I'd hate to see it die just 'cause I've buggered off for a while and will remain buggered off for another while.
