already have, just for the hell of it. You could likewise sue Sony for the same thing, they also have a web browser on their PS3. Don't know why it's one over the other.

This makes no sense to me. Don't most people have a computer before they have a Wii?? It's a fuck of a lot easier to look at porn on your computer.
-
It's not as bad (or good) as the PSP. I saw a guy watching lesbian porn on his PSP during chemistry class.
-
Jeph will tell you that one of the first things I did when the browser dropped was load up meatspin to see if it worked. (it did)

School kids at home have to deal with parental controls on the PC. But they can take their Wii and find a hotspot at the mall and mom and dad won't know anything about it.

Manipulating yourself at a mall? Great, a whole new generation of exhibitionists.
-
If you think taking a Wii to the mall is a remotely pragmatic way of looking at porn, you've got a fantastic imagination. Kids are going to look at porn if they know what it is and want to see it. It's not like you can accidentally stumble on porn online--assuming you do, you end up either saying "eww, no" or "hell yes!!" I think that's my dividing line for porn laws. If you're old enough to want to see it, go ahead. I remember all the guys in my neighborhood huddled around a Penthouse in the woods. None of us were out of primary school yet, but someone had snagged his Dad's Penthouse. Staring at some chick's goods gave me a slightly ill feeling and none of us ever looked at the mag again, instead burying it in a tackle box.

See, the thing with the Wii is, it's advertised as a whole family thing. The PS3 is for expanding the mind with the awesomeness of graphics and bloody games that children probably shouldn't play but do. So, as you can see, Wii=Family and PS3=Gore basically. Not to say The Godfather is a family game, but take a look at selections now and it's sort of obvious why the Wii is being attacked remotally.
-
The thing is though, that you need to have the Wii connected to a TV, and has it has been advertised as a family thing, it is most likely going to be in the lounge room of a standard home. How on earth is a child going to be able to be looking up porn while in his family's lounge room, no doubt, with other family members in the vicinity. Parents are not completely clueless about these kinds of things.

For some reason, I wasn't thinking of the Wii, but the DS. Nintendo's other gamething that has wireless internet capabilities. I thought I read that you can load a web browser into it, so kids using it to surf porn was no surprise. Since the Wii has to be hooked up to a TV, my comment about taking it to the mall to surf makes no fucking sense.
-
If these consoles can connect to the internet, shouldn't they also be capiable of having the same kinds of parental controls that computers have? Any good parent who really cares about what their children are exposed to will find out fairly quickly that these systems can connect to the internet, and even if parental control software does not currently exist for the consoles, it can be created...

omg pr0n lol!!11
i really think this is stupid. i mean, yeah, it makes sense that parents want to keep their kids from being exposed to that kind of stuff, but it's going to happen eventually. whether it's through friends and magazines and stuff, or if through a girlfriend or boyfriend and exploring. like someone already said: they will find out quite quickly that it can surf the web, and that it has parental controls.
if they ruin the Wii for us all i'm going to be pissed. i wanted one, and i wanted to play The Legend of Zelda! :x

'Tis why the Wii has it's name. And one handed controller. :D
