serial. 10 <3's out of 5.

Haven't seen it yet, but I watched the Unscripted with Timberlake, Ricci, and Sam Jackson.
The clip they showed was between Timberlake and Ricci and I was impressed.
I don't usually like Ricci's acting.
-
Kevin Smith compared the director to Faulkner.
This is heartening.
-
The title is one of the worst sexual innuendo I've ever heard.

the innuendo is, i think, less than intentional. the movie's not really about sex.
-
That makes even less sense then. Are you telling me that they came up with a title like that and were completely unaware that it sounded like a bad porno name?
-
Most likely. I haven't even heard of the movie, except on here. What is it even about? if it is not about sex...than what is it about? I'm off to google it now...
-
It has to do some with sex. It is about a nymphomaniac (Ricci) being kidnapped by an old blues singer dude (Jackson) who tries to reform her.
It looks damn good.
-
I want to see this movie beacuse it looks good, but I don't understand what the hell it's supposed to be about!
Is that strange, to want to see a movie that you know nothing about?
I'm just way to lazy to go onto IMDB and find out, haha.
-
You must be very lazy is you don't even want to read the post above yours!
-
Three sentances doesn't tell me what a film is about. :-P That's like a dunces-synopsis. I need more then that.
-
That is what the film is about.
-
have you ever read faulkner? c'mon, go ahead and tell me in an internet message board post what sound and the fury is about.
i think it's about what touches you in it, the sexual strugglings, the being fucked up, the blues, love, wanting vs. needing, and how people love each other... that's what it's about. or that's what it spoke to me about. and it was good. so... go watch it. if you don't like it, i got nothin to say to you.

I should be going sometime this week to see this movie. I'm very much looking forward to it.

Snakes On A Plane, anyone?
-
Snakes on a Plane didn't incite my interest. The title gave away to much
-
I caught the tail end of some MTV thing about this movie. The director said Black Snake Moan was an unexplained feeling of dread or anxiety that he and his wife dubbed 'the black snake moan'. I am paraphrasing though.
The movie's about Samuel Jackson finding Christina Ricci on his road after a wild night. Ever since her man (timberlake) left for the war her life went down hill and she turns into a slut. While saving Ricci, SJ comes to grips with his own demons. That's what I've taken from the reviews I've read thus far. My local cinema isn't playing it, I'm going to have to commute for this one. Which I intend to do.
-
I couldn't decide if I wanted to see it. So I haven't yet. It looks very entertaining.
-
She's not a nymphomaniac or a slut. If you watch the movie and come out saying that, you didn't really get it. SLJ's character didn't so much "reform" Ricci's character so much as cure her. She was sick, and as a consequence, she did a lot of desperate things to get rid of the pain (or dread or whatever you want to call it). It actually reminded me a lot of that character in Wallace's Infinite Jest (PGOAT, maybe, but I think it was another woman), and how she smoked crack just to get rid of the inexplicable horrible feeling that overcame her when she was straight.
The movie did a very good job in duplicating that sense of dread/impending doom by having it overhang nearly every scene, but having it turn out to be ok in the end, as long as you stuck it out.
-
I know I'd feel impending doom if I were chained to Sam Jackson's house
-
I haven't seen it yet, but I definitely will. It sounds/looks pretty interesting from what you guys said and from the trailer.
-
I've heard it said that it sounds like a /b/tard came up with a basic premise for a movie, and then talented people took it up and turned it into something great. I can't say I disagree.
That said, I haven't seen it yet. It should be coming to the campus theaters around the 16th or so.

Snakes On A Plane, anyone?
These movie would've been leaps and bounds better if it had been titled "White Bitch in Chains."
-
And my theater never got this movie, so I still haven't seen it. Fuckers.
