Title: recommend troll some metal (wut?)

So I've been listening to thrash metal a lot. unfortunately this means I've been listening to the same four thrash bands I got. I need more.

I got:

Slayer (counts, but good lord i don't want more music that sounds like slayer.)
Abigail
Absu
Melechesh


I especially like absu and melechesh so if you got any like that, it would be super. I also really like Abigail's song "Attack With Spell" more than anything else they got. more like this prz.

Troll, have you listened to ..And Oceans yet? I suggest you try the album The Symmetry of I, the Circle of O.

I'm guessing you know Atheist and Skyclad.

Also, try Anacrusis (http://apogee.whack.org/~ken/anacrusis%20media/anac_Albums_MP3.htm). I didnt like their first album but I know they have some fan base around here, maybe worth checking out.

Oh, also, try Kreator's old albums. They kind of got shitty latley but most of the albums are excellent.

Here's a few reccomended bands based on Abagail, Absu and Melechesh:

Morrigan, Oni, Stargazer, Bathory, Portal, Countess, M?negarm, Tearstained, Hellhammer, Desaster, Destroyer 666, Sodom, Kreator, Gospel of the Horns

That should be a pretty good start.

Troll, I think I have just the band for you. http://www.myspace.com/momentumtheband These guys play blackened thrash or something like that. Not too far from Melechesh, more technical perhaps, and no middle eastern anything. The songs on there are all pretty nice, I'm particularly fond of Part 1 and Momentum in Concert. Check it.

I second Anacrusis, especially Screams and Whispers. I second, third, and fourth Voivod because I love them that much, but they had a long and varied career and personally, I don't really find much worth in anything they did before Killing Technology and The Outer Limits although a lot of people disagree with me. Also, check out some Coroner, esp Mental Vortex.
