Title: Question for anyone who saw tonight's Battlestar Galactica
Post by: tacroy on 25 Mar 2007, 20:16
Good episode tonight, but I was wondering if anyone happened to know who is responsible for / where I could find the version of "All Along the Watchtower" they played at the end.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Damn.  I just got around to watching this.  Goddamn.

All Along the Watchtower (w/dialogue) (http://www.box.net/shared/uzimyzo9o8) from the show.  I can't find the actual track without the dialogue, but it was done by Bear McCreary's brother, who goes by BT4.

Thanks a ton, I really appreciate you finding this for me.

Great episode though, don't you think?  I'm depressed we won't see more of the show until '08, although hopefully the movie they put out will be good enough to hold me over.

Yeah, I'm a bit disappointed I have to wait so long, but I'll live.

There is an original series episode referred to as the Ship of Lights episode that apparently has a third race in it. Maybe they're taking a cue from that, and the Leoben in Kara's head, Kara herself, maybe six are all part of that race.

I definitely don't think that Anders, Tigh, and the others are cylons though. There is something else at work here.

Yeah, I'm really not sure what I think of the idea that Chief and the others are Cylons either.  Though I think the fact that Six and Leoben have both died and been resurrected seems to indicate that at least those two cannot be part of any third race.  All speculation of course, though.

Also, after I saw your response I noticed there was an article linked on Digg about the song as well, Here. (http://geeksofdoom.com/2007/03/26/all-along-the-waa/)

Well shit. Now I've gotta get a new pair of pants after watching that Ep. Fucking stunning.

In the case that Tigh, Anders, Chief, and the other one (I forget her name) are some of the final 5 cylons, then isn't there one more?

I think the assumption was that the fifth was Starbuck, as she seems to have been resurrected (and somehow put in a copy of her former ship?)

One of the best episodes yet, I think.  I'm pretty sure that Anders, Tigh, and all them are actual Cylons, half-cylons, or a different version of Cylon.  The whole final five thing is kind of strange because in that temple/opera house scene with Roslin, Six, and Athena there are actually 6 spots on that altar which to me means that the final five could just be half cylons raised as humans and the reason for the 6th spot is because of Hera, her being a half-cylon as well.  Done spouting silly theories now.  Other than that I really enjoyed how the music was sprinkled through the last couple episodes and it really served to make the climax more dramatic when it comes in at full force at the end.
