So I'm in sort of a playlist-making phase right now, and and trying to put one together solely of really catchy dance/electronica songs, although I'm using a rather broad definition of "dance/electronica." Figured it might be kind of fun to get a group-constructed playlist going.
A few basic parameters:
Try and only pick tracks you can dance to. Obviously this is wildly subjective, but I trust you understand what I mean.
Remixes are fine (please specify which, if there are several)
There is no limit to how many songs can come from a single artist
Upbeat songs preferred
Obscure and mainstream songs are treated equally
The list does not have a maximum length
I have a few tracks to start it off, so everyone has an idea of what I have in mind.
RJD2- "1976," (http://www.sendspace.com/file/vboq5e) "Ghostwriter" (http://www.sendspace.com/file/1acz2h)
Daft Punk - "One More Time," (http://www.sendspace.com/file/n2ic9v) "Digital Love"
Orbital - Chime (http://www.sendspace.com/file/9hx6tc)
Mylo - Otto's Journey (http://www.sendspace.com/file/17zli0)

definitely open with Metal Machine Music, Part 4 by Lou Reed
-
Seventeen Years - Ratatat

Get some Pinback, motherfucker!
-
I'd agree with Flaming O, if Pinback were either catchy, dance or electronica. None of which they are, so nevermind.
Bjork's Debut and Post will have something for you. 'There's more to life than this' immediately sprung to my mind.
Polysics are hell of catchy.
That's enough from me, let somebody else play.

Royksopp!
I'm giving you the choice of "Only This Moment" or "Follow My Ruin".
-
MSTRKRFT - "The Looks"
Shout Out Out Out Out - "Forever Indebted"
LCD Soundsystem - "Tribulations"
-
Lemon Jelly - Nice Weather for Ducks (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hipWBfEMY50&mode=related&search=)

Hey guys, how about 20 of us pick ONE additional song, then we work on arranging them into a structured playlist?
So we all have one track we have submit for the playlist?
-
I am with darryl
!!! - Take Ecstasy With Me
-
I'm reducing my selection down to Shout Out Out Out Out's "Forever Indebted."
-
The Gash - The Flaming Lips
-
Junior Senior - Itch U Can't Skratch
I can't help but get out of my seat and dance every time I hear that song.
-
Scatman Jon - "Scatman"
I dance in the shower to this.
-
Hot Chip - Boy From School
-
Daft Punk - Da Funk
-

My only other suggestion is Q and Not U. They are catchy and dancy. Still, Pinback is good.

Ascii Disko - Strassen
Syrian - Musica Atomica; Vision (cheesy as fuck but worth it)
Shiny Toy Guns - Le Disko
The Faint - Danse Macabre (Paul Oakenfold remix)
Man With No Name - Seratonin Sunrise
Infected Mushroom - Cities Of The Future
I Am X - The Alternative
Neuroticfish - The Bomb
Grendel - Zombie Nation (either version)
Unter Null - Sick Fuck (C-Drone Defect remix)
re: Spinless' post if I had to pick one to fit into a playlist with the other songs already suggested it'd probably be the first one
-
FO, I recommend Sonic Youth to metal heads because it's the closest thing to metal I listen to. They really do appreciate it.
Or maybe I don't do that.
I guess my 'submission' is the Bjork song I mentioned further up the page.

We should totally each upload our tracks and make a bangin' QC 'mixtape'

That would be pretty cool.
Loving the recommendations so far, guys. Thanks again, and keep them up :-)

Ascii Disko - Strassen (http://download.yousendit.com/7E809373474813CA)
Warning: this track contains high levels of German.
Get it while it's hot, these uploads only last a week. :)

Daft Punk - Around the World (Harder Better Faster Stronger) remix (http://www.yousendit.com/download/QlVnY05wQk41UjQwTVE9PQ)
This is a live recording of Daft Punk playing at Coachella last April. Probably the best recording from them I've ever heard

Why have I never heard that duck song before? It's really good!
My contribution is MGMT-Kids (http://www.sendspace.com/file/nteyc4).
