Hey, I'm starting to get bored with my music library and would appreciate any suggestions. Anything would be good- except metal and some techno. I've really been enjoying DeVotchKa recently and would recconmend them to anyone who enjoys unpredictable, fun and unique tunes.

Lodger. Lodger is just awesome! www.lodger.tv
-
Paolo Nutini.
Mainstream, maybe, but his songs are really cool.
His site. (http://www.myspace.com/paolonutini)
-
Dinosaur Jr.
This is where you all say "Duh."
-
and to your duh i say read the title again and replace your suh with a doe (or at the very least an annoyed grunt)
-
Wow I really like Lodger, thanks!!!
My recent discovery was DAT Politics, who I only discovered because I love Love LOve LOVe LOVE Secret Mommy (who nobody really knows about either, despite the fact that he owns the label that DFA 1979 was originally on!)
www.datpolitics.com
www.secretmommy.com (perhaps a good baseline song to check out is Kool Aid River, although its FAR from my favorite song of his, the video's neat too)
if you have a napster subscription you can also find most of their stuff there.

Ishotdanieljohnston, you couldn't have shot Daniel Johnston because he did acid with Caroline.
-
VOXTROT.
i didn't just discover them actually. i've known of them for a few monthes now, but i was blown away when i heard them. catchiest. songs. ever. the mothers, sisters, daughters, and wives ep is amazing.

Three Bad Jacks, Rocket 350, Rosie Flores, Wolfmother, and HorrorPops, just to know a few bands I discovered that are pretty cool.

Small Sails. I saw them opening for Say Hi To Your Mom last friday and they were AMAZING.

I've only recently gotten really into Low, but they have quickly become one of my favourite bands. Same deal with Of Montreal.
-
I've really been enjoying DeVotchKa
Good. You are doing it right.
*Has nothing more to add*
-
Honey Is Cool - That foreign girl from The Knife with the awesome voice also has an indie crew, and they're pretty fuckin' fantastic.
The Most Serene Republic - Found these guys through someone on here's last.fm; downloaded 'em cos of the name but the music more than lives up to it. Very relaxing.
Goon Moon - Twiggy Ramirez from Marilyn Manson and the non-famous guys from Queens Of The Stone Age. Some kind of mental prog-stoner-rock.
Luomo - House artist. Oontz oontz oontz oontz.
Ofra Haza / Vas / Material - 3 different acts who put out Middle Eastern/Arabian tunes, something a bit different and nice to chill out to.
Niyaz - Singer from Vas' electronic project.
-
I saw DeVotchKa back in Denver when I still lived there.
They are a great band.
-
Talk Talk (so good!)
Wolves in the Throne Room
Ludicra
-
Explosions in the Sky, Ride, and a few others that i've known about for some period of time, i just haven't decided whether i want to download whole albums by them yet (i.e. Bear vs. Shark).
Also, one of my friends has shown me Paolo Nutini recently. He's alright.
-
arctic monkeys, the tossers, be your own pet (as of about an hour ago), the shins, and mika. bite me if you hate mainstream.
-
I like The Shins. I think i might get more off their new album.
-
Mammatus. I saw them open for Acid Mothers Temple last night. They fucking rocked.
-
Acid Mothers temple would've been an insane gig... I'll check Mammutus out.
-
Appleseed Cast
I don't know how well known they are...but I just found out about them. They're really good.
-
White Rabbits (http://www.myspace.com/whiterabbits) Dance-ish indie rock but somehow fresh and unique i think. Listen to "While we go dancing", it's the song that hooked me at first.
-
KLING KLANG. i just saw these guys support 65daysofstatic, and they were FANTASTIC.
