Surprised nobody's posted it up already; I found out yesterday.

Found out about this recently. I'm pretty upset about it. I was hoping they had one more album left in them. And their website said they were working on a new album as early as late 2005. It's a bit out of the blue. Who knows, maybe they'll reform in 8 years like they did for Get Ready.
-
Waiting for the Siren's Call was a pretty weak album. I think it would've been better if they could have gone out after Get Ready.
-
So you'd rather they go out an even weaker album rather than a weak album?
I think Siren's Call had some great singles on it. 'Krafty' is one of my all time favourite New Order tunes.

Word on the street is that it's a 12"

emilio is going to be devastated
maybe we should hide this from him
for his own good

I heard this a while ago (a week or so) and i've been devastated, yesterday i went out, got drunk and cried to a girl about it.
-
Man this is news to me. That is oh so tragic. They have been at the heart of the industry for so long I just can't imagine what it will be like without them. And here was I hoping there'd tour again. FUCK.
-
They were still around?
Don't really care about this. It's not like they were Joy Division or something.
-
But they WERE Joy Division. Though they sucked a lot when compared to Joy Division.
-
They couldn't have been any more Joy Division save by carrying Ian's corpse around with them.
They were kind of like Joy Division in a bizarro universe where the band members got prescription meds for their terrible depression, and tuned their instruments properly. Wouldn't really call them better or worse, just different incarnations of the same thing for radically different moods.
-
I have always counted Joy Division and New Order as one band, just like the two versions of AC/DC; they were just much better for the first two albums, not that New Order weren't fantastic at times.
-
It's not like they were Joy Division or something.
I'm 90% sure that this part was sarcastic.
-
Great one less good British band. We aren't left with many now.
RIP Englands' music industry. RIP Madchester.
-
I'm 90% sure that this part was sarcastic.
Yeah I just took it to mean 'not like they were as good as JD' or something.
-
But they weren't Joy Division. They were New Order. I think it's fair to say that they weren't the same band after Ian died. He was a massive part of what made Joy Division Joy Division.
