Post the name of something undiscovered, but GOOD here!
Help these bands get famous... sort of...
Like...
Kay Kay and his Weathered Underground
or
Handsome Furs
or
Spoon... wait... never mind, we all know Spoon
Make it fun, see if you can find a band that nobody else has heard of!
-
Perhaps you should visit the Hi, I'm New board...just a helpful suggestion.
-
Welcome to the forums, Chick.
If you like a band that is relatively unknown feel free to upload an album to the sendspace thread.
-
None of you know of the bands I listen to.

But that thread doesn't have a happy face next to it! :-D
-
The other day I heard about this band called "Fugazi". They fucking rock! My musical mind has been blown!
-
Fugazi (http://mirror.uncyc.org/wiki/Fugazi)?
-
I don't know if Baroness count, but they sure do kick ass.

Definitely some rockin' stuff. Just too bad "Tower Falls" isn't on their myspace, because that song freakin' kicks.
-
I only listen to bands with less than 700 myspace friends.
-
That happy face looks too smug for my liking.
That's because it's heard of bands you haven't.
-
Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons.
Great Great GREAT neo soul stuff, perfectly alternating between up beat and bummerish. Go Go GO listen.
-
Philip Uster and the House Floor. They're a friend of a friend's band from VA and sound a lot like Q and Not U

If you like those you can download their full EP: http://www.sendspace.com/file/rkkrf9

If we're taking this thread seriously, then...
Japonize Elephants from Zorlock Land of the Lost. Found a CD of theirs for a dollar and was very impressed. Apparently they've been on Fresh Air so they're probably not insanely obscure, but I've certainly never known anyone who has ever heard of them.
-
Oh, I will take this thread terribly seriously!
Wait... you can't be sarcastic on the internet, dang.
At least I haven't been flamed into oblivion!
Woo, Circa Survive www.myspace.com/circasurvive
-
Circa Survive is really popular, from my understanding. At least, everyone during my senior year was obsessed with them. I don't know. They aren't that great, imo.
Anyway, can I post some local bands? A few of them are actually pretty good, and one of the bands have just finished a Canadian tour(which I guess is a pretty exciting thing for a band from St. Louis).
Also,
Isn't this thread kinda the same as this? (http://forums.questionablecontent.net/index.php/topic,15658.0.html)

I am currently listening to a playlist largely composed of Thee Maldoror Kollective, Carnival in Coal, Aborym, Bohren & Der Club of Gore, Red Harvest, Alien Vampires, Plasma Pool and Thorns.
I'm prepared to bet most people ain't too familiar with at least the large majority of those acts.
-
Here are some kickass bands getting big in NYC right now:
The Rosewood Thieves
Levi
The Harlem Shakes
Beirut (ok secret's out on Beirut but Zach and I have this thing where I talk about how awesome he is and he doesn't know I exist -- also the Flying Cup Club is released in September according to Wikipedia and if you call it Balkan a member of the band will personally come to your house and mock you in front of your friends.)
-
Bohren & Der Club Of Gore are fantastic, although they have one of the least appropriate names ever. Sounds like a shitty grind band.
-
waaaaaaaait...... why does grind have to be shitty ???
Grind can be FUN
besides: Carnival in Coal are totally awesome
