We recieved a demo from some chap who desires to to enter a national country music talent contest. Our station is hosting one of the initial regional rounds in a few weeks, so we've been sifting through all the applicants looking for the best of the best. Our intern recently found this gem, and it was so utterly awful than I knew I had to post the songs here.
I know that everyone on this forum has a love for music, and a vast majority of us are also musicians, so I must forewarn you - this is truly one of the most brutal things I have ever heard. If you can make it past the cartoon-esque, bumbling stumbling 'good ole boy' vocals, and if you can get through his appalling lack of a sense of proper pitch, then you still have to deal with the jarring sensation you'll get in the pit of your stomach when your own internalized sense of rhythm tries to correct the ongoing battle of his timing vs. the backing track.
This may cause internal bleeding, so please...this listen is not for the faint of heart. You may come out of this experience hating life more than you could possibly imagine.

I'm more concerned by the fact the entire bass line seems to consist of occasionally swapping between two adjacent frets.

This is so bad it's almost....nah, it's utter shit. Reminds me what Guided By Voices would sound like if Robert Pollard was born in Tennessee and got worse by drinking rather than getting better.

I usually just lurk this forum, but this was just too good for me to pass up. I actually have kept this song on my harddrive for quite a few years solely because it's one of the funniest, and worst, songs i've ever heard.

"stop the war" by speak.. why the hell hungary needs to have a really bad vanilla ice style rapper who counts snoop dog and tupac as his 'homies' is beyond me.. the true work of genius in this song is when the, ahem *cough* 'backup singers' start in on the chorus, I haven't heard tonal recognition this bad since ole shatner put out the transformed man.. seriously though, head over to youtube and do a search for the music vid of this song.. it's so bad it'll make you cry hehe

While the music manages to be utterly generic and annoying to the highest degree, I couldn't help but burst out laughing when I saw the ''serious'' 'gazing into the distance shots'.

That Underoath video Tommy posted is even more fun to watch if you remember that Underoath used to be a rather heavy death-ish metal band. It's true that recently this band has been a tragic example of how truly awful music can be when it takes a wrong turn at Albuquerque, but there once was a time (see their albums "Act Of Depression" and "Cries Of The Past") that they were not all that unpleasant to listen to, if you happened to like heavier music.

I was under the impression that Underoath has always sucked. No, seriously. I tried to listen to their early harder stuff in that context. It was just so mind-bogglingly derivative and irritating that I couldn't take it.

They were never anything special by any stretch of the imagination, but they weren't NEARLY as fuckawful as what they are these days.

Oh dear lord! This underoath song is terrible. It's even worse then complete.
Assuming this would just be normal, generic emo-core, I put on this video expecting to go "No tommy, Complete and the original songs are both way worse" but Underoath are clearly worse.
The 'gaze into the distance' shots are priceless though, along with the cheesey keys. I also love how this band somehow manages to be instantly forgettable but yet also eternally irritating.

It is not just that this band is the epitome of everything wrong with guitar music, it is more that I am genuinely curious that these people have not been killed. Or simply that no-one has informed them that they are an unnervingly accurate example - perhaps the definitive example - of exactly the very last bunch of cunts who should ever be allowed to make music.

I actually think they're all slightly loveable. Yeah, if you where there you'd be heckling them, possibly throwing feces at them, but it's hard to hate them.

Now that you say that, I can't get his vocal out of my head - his ONE vocal line, used a few hundred times - the way it always ascends up to that one high note and then sliiides down a few steps. As in:
"Take me to hoogieboogielaaaaaaaaa(high note reached about here)aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand!"
The best part of that entire set, for me, was seeing the close-up of the drummer's kit, with the Good Charlotte-esque lettering of the band's name on the front. If that doesn't say "great bands of the 70s and 80s, mang," then I don't know what does.
Just a few clicks away from Complete, by the way, I found this. I have no idea what the concept for the beginning is.

They had this linked at metal archives. The intro is totally weird, and yeah, it's really hilarious. There's so many really awful black metal videos on youtube.

That's metalcore at best. The thing about heavy metal is that there's that "heavy" qualifier, and there is nothing heavy about them. Thus your comment should more accurately read:
They play substitute Metal for those who don't know what metal sounds like and want to be seen as hardcore and I want them to die.
