Clearly it is Christmas Carol, but some people think otherwise, do you?
-
Apparently not, so far!
-
"I'll swap with anyone who has a jacuzzi!"
Man, it's not even a contest.
-
gotta go with christmas carol
I barely remember seeing any of the other ones, well besides Treasure Island
-
C'mon guys, original and best. The bicycle scene!
-
Gryfford, i expected better from you of all people.
</3

Oh, Christmas Carol fucking hardcore. Not only is it the Muppets, but Michael Caine is an absolutely bitchin' Scrooge. Not to mention, aside from there being two Marleys, it's one of the most book accurate film versions of Christmas Carol ever.
I'm going to have "We're Marley and Marley....whooooooooooooooa" stuck in my head all day now.

I voted for the original. The second one was a kinda weak follow-up, and Manhattan was just more of the same. Treasure Island and Christmas Carol were not bad flicks, but I guess I have a basic problem with Muppet versions of old classics. I just can't take it seriously when a live-action humanoid is standing there arguing with an 18-inch Muppet. There's suspending disbelief, and then there's "Oh come on". Never saw Muppets from Space, so I guess the original wins by process of elimination.
I really do like The Muppets. I bought the first season of The Muppet Show on DVD. But Muppets and classic literature just don't mesh for me.

They're meant to be taken seriously?
Also, Christmas Carol is by far the best. Gonzo as Charles Dickens as The Narrator. Genius.

Half an hour later and I still can't get that fucking song out of my head.
"I remember the little tykes all standing in the snowbank, with their little frostbitten teddy bears! Aaaahahaha!"
Great fucking movie. Not just my favorite Muppet movie, but probably my favorite Christmas movie.
-
I voted for Christmas but really it is a Christmas Treasure Island tie
-
Okay, "seriously" is not the right word. What's the word for "at the very least being able to accept what's going on without being too distracted by the logistics inherent in a situation wherein a person is arguing with a Muppet"?
-
Christmas Carol was the best but I voted for Treasure Island, because of awesome and pirates!
-
Well, I voted for Christmas Carol because that is the one that most are familiar with, and I -do- rather enjoy it, but I think that Treasure Island is my favorite. Yay for Tim Curry!
-
I voted for the original, because of all the fond memories I have. Christmas Carol is second and Treasure Island is third. Never really cared for Manhattan and I haven't seen the others.
-
Treasure Island.
We got cabin feVER. We got cabin feVER.
-
I've got it, too!
Tim Curry FTW

Possibly "immersion", but "stupidity" seems pretty apt as well... :-P
-
Um, thanks.
-
Which is the shortest one?
-
Umm, I think they are all about the same length --all of them are Feature Length, and I am to lazy to go look up times and compare all of them on imdb.
Anyone like the television show?? My Aunt is a -huge- fan of the Muppets, and we bought her (I think) the first two seasons for Christmas last year, or the year before. She adored it --which is kinda sad for a lady pushin' 30, but alas...she can be a kid forever --she's a small town librarian ;)
-
Treasure Island was the last Muppet movie I saw, and it was awful. Muppet movies are not meant to be about human guest stars hogging the limelight - they're meant to be about the frigging MUPPETS!
-
Christmas Carol because it is awesome. No contest. Treasure Island was also awesome. Muppets From Space was incredibly disappointing.

I dunno what's particularly sad about that. Pushin' thirty means she grew up with the Muppets. A lot of us will likely be holding on to bits of our childhood for ages to come (I myself am in my mid-twenties and still watch the early nineties Batman cartoon when given the chance).

Christmas Carol FTW.
"Heat wave! This is my island in the sun!"
"It's the boomerang fish. Guaranteed fresh. I throw the fish A-WAY... and it comes back to me. Get 'em while they're fresh."
-
I voted Christmas Carol because I watch the damn thing every Christmas and still love it, but I remember liking the Great Muppet Caper! Where's the love?
-
The 3 my family own are Great Muppet Caper, Muppet Christmas Carol, and Muppet Treasure Island. Of the three, I have to give the nod to Christmas Carol.
-
I love the Christmas Carol, but I definitely vote for the original movie. Although I haven't seen it in years, "Moving Right Along" still gets stuck in my head once every few weeks (and who can forget the fork in the road? or Doc Hopper and the frog legs? or Electric Mayhem in the Presbyterian church?).
In my book, the Great Muppet Caper comes in at a pretty solid third with the Happiness Hotel.
-
I found an Electric Mayhem T-Shirt for like eight bucks this weekend while visiting family in NH. Absolutely bitchin'.
