Seriously though why not go into detail about why the fold out digipack version is better (despite the obvious given reasons) or something so this isn't a complete waste of bandwith on a series of tubes somewhere.

They were not very good cookies, but i think they did taste better than vomit. Anyway, i don't think they are in my stomach now and i'd rather not puke out the paté i am eating...

I realise that this is totally not what the thread is about anymore, but if I have a choice between a foldey-card and a jewel case I always go for the foldey-card one. You can do a lot more cool stuff with the foldey ones and they don't damn well crack. And there isn't really a standard that everyone's agreed on for how they should work either so they're usually all different.

I agree, jewel cases suck. I love collecting card-enclosed albums, so many different textures and patterns etc.

I'm pretty sure the entire purpose of Jewel Cases are for someone in my house to accidentally step on the corner of and shatter.

But if I crack a jewel case, I can just replace it, not to mention I don't have to worry about damaging a cardboard case which I can't replace should I tear it.

Cardboard cases, and strange/awesome/unique album packaging in general, are totally awesome, but not practical.  It's something you put on a shelf and safegaurd to prevent damage.  Helll, I bought a CD binder for the sole purpose of sticking Merzbow CD's in, because almost all of his album packaging is very delicate and fragile to be used often. Merzbow's Timehunter boxset is awesome looking (a dayplanner with four 3" cd's), but I have only looked at it twice in the last couple of years that I have owned it, because I don't wanna bust it; I did a cdr of the tracks and listen to those instead.

So in closing: unique packaging is cool but not practical.

I agree that digipak cases are definitely teh sex.  I don't know why, part of it is probably the fact that you do not have to worry about cracking it.  I love the Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga digipak but I do not know why.

Actually, I think in the first half of the album they display a lot of mixing talent and songwriting ability.  But in the second half of the album it gets kind of uneven and jarring.  At some points it's like they can't decide whether they wish they were Primal Scream or Massive Attack.

I know, I know, "Blackened," "One," etc. But saying "They could go by 'Fleming' and 'Rasmussen'" just sounds a little weird and doesn't make fun of Bob Rock at all so I'm not on board with the idea.
