There is a group called Time Machine who are fun. This is not, however, the band that comes up when googling for 'time machine band' or anywhere on wikipedia. Allmusic is down. They are similar in style to Malente, who are also fun.

Maybe skip the track "Sunworshipper" though; it's a cool song but not exactly an "ass shaking" one.

E. Spaceman is right.  I downloaded Soulwax- Night Versions and it's pretty fucking great and I really am not into dance music.  It's very inventive.

Every song on 'The Smell of Rain'* makes my hips rotate spontaneously and my shoulders twitch and my head start moving, no matter where I am. I can't even remember which one James Brown is. Was he the reverend in the african american church in The Blues Brothers?

*Except 'Everyone Leaves' of course. That's the interpretive dance one.

Hot Hot Heat, The Rock N' Roll Soldiers, Reel Big Fish, Louis XIV, OK Go, Forces Of Evil, Big D and the Kids' Table, Dropkick Murphys (I highly recommend wearing a helmet to their shows), Morningwood, The Hives, Suburban Legends, The Arrogant Sons of Bitches... I could keep going all day.

Seriously

If you know Soulwax, you should know 2manyDJ's as well. If they can't make your ass shake, who will ?!?
Question: is Soulwax really that big that people in America know of them or iz Belgium in da house?
Goose - also from Belgium, they also rule, of course (i'm such a chauvinist)
Vitalic, Dr.Lektroluv,

To mr. Rhinohelicopter: Soulwax is a rockband, Nite Versions are the remixes. Maybe that's why you like it so much :-)

I don't think a lot of people in the U.S. know them.  I do know that they had a song called "Hello, Allison" on Jet Set Radio Future, here in the U.S. but I don't think they get a lot of coverage.  And you're probably right.  That is probably why I like them.

PUSSY.

Hey, the last Murphys show I went to I walked away from with a ring in my ears, a limp, and bruises in places a man should not have bruises. A helmet is a modest recommendation!

Also, don't bother with the band Helmet.
