Just Wondering.
-
I do occasionally.
-
Ayyup.
-
I just discovered it a couple weeks ago, but I've been reading it since then
-
I don't think the blog is as much for the forum as it is for readers of the comic who don't otherwise venture into the forum. That strikes me as the intended audience.
If we want to know what you or Jeph think about music we just have to do a quick search. I read the blog whenever I read the comic - about once a week.
-
I read the blog. The best part is everybody's distinct style of writing. It's easy to tell which of you come from a writing background, and what kind of background that is. Sure, I don't particularly care about what's going on with music, I just enjoy reading it.
-
Are we talking about the blog I should be writing something for? The one I should be writing something for right now?
-
I do! I like it, just maybe review more albums people haven't heard of?
-
I haven't heard of about half of those, so I consider it to be doing a good job...just sayin'.
-
I hadn't even noticed that it had changed from the old recommended listening page...but I read it today!
I agreed with the reviews of the albums I'd heard. Well reasoned and solidly written. I'll probably keep reading it.
-
I also had no idea it existed. Just had a look - the quality of writing is good but it's not really about any CDs that interest me so I doubt I'll read it regularly, sorry :(
-
Man I do not care I was just curious.
-
Why would you listen to music that isn't Creedence? :?
-
we'll keep your secret... for now.
-
I dig it. Well, mainly for reminding me to check out one Aussie band I'd heard of (Martin Martini et al.) and making me want to don my russian naval shirt and go to a VulgarGrad gig. They sound fucking awesome.
Also, whoever the Melbournite reviewer is, check out the Crooked Fiddle Band (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=100523395) if you get a chance. They sound right up your alley, and they're going to be down your way soonish.
-
I'll check it out every couple of weeks or so.

Thanks, will do!

We have a music blog?
-
Everybody has a music blog!
-
Here (http://www.questionablecontent.net/rlblog/), as per this (http://forums.questionablecontent.net/index.php/topic,16602.0.html) thread.

So, I kind of missed the whole thing - is there no more Recommended Listening? I kinda used to enjoy that.
Is the blog supposed to replace it? Reading just seems like too much work, I'd rather just have a list of things to give a listen to...
-
You do not deserve good music.
-
Reading just seems like too much work, I'd rather just have a list of things to give a listen to...
The conflicts of today.
-
I looked at it once. I might look at it if I'm bored. And, as a plus for going to college, I can legally download all recommended songs/albums! I love you Ruckus!

What happened to the whole "Listen and decide for yourself" mantra around here?
-
That blog really needs a new template. Shame Jeph is busy, like a bee!
Honestly, I am barely able to read the blog with the template it does have.
-
I don't find it too bad. And I really enjoyed Tommy's article on More Songs About Buildings and Food.
-
Tommy's article was excellent.
I'm not too happy with the stock Blogger template either, I'd like it to more closely resemble the rest of my site, but I just don't have time to spend an entire day trying to get blogger code and my CSS to play nice together.
HINT HINT

LAAAAAAAAAAAZY
I'll probably post RL-style updates fairly often, as I like writing short little bursts of thought and the other guys on the blog are all better long-form reviewers than me anyway.
-
Well if you suck massively, don't do it!
I found a slightly nicer-looking template on Bloggah. It's a start, at least.
-
Yo jeph, I'll try to put something up there this weekend, 'kay? I've been swamped with work lately. I've got a few things I want to write about but it's just a matter of sorting out which one is going to be good and which ones are going to be crap. Plus last week was my birthday week, so no way was I gonna do anything constructive then. No way, man!
-
Not really no.
Just saying. Don't judge me, I'm a busy person.
-
I bought Challengers because Tommy told me to.
-
Hah
Hahah
HAHAHAHA!
Also, I made a quick blogger template based on the QC website, but I didn't like it. It still exist, it's very easy to find too.
-
I'd read it more often if the RSS feed worked
-
I bought Challengers because Tommy told me not to.
-
I bought Challengers of my own volition, guys. Before reading Tommy's review.
It was a mistake though (the album, that is). Such a disappointment.
-
Your review pretty much says 'I don't like this at all, but you should buy it just so they don't starve. Because they will starve. Because I ain't buying it.'
-
it's okay, people have been skipping over your post since we started 'Face Week'.
-
oh snap, burrnn.
Anywayyy,
"I will not buy this record. I really hope someone will though."
I was that someone. I like Myriad Harbour and All The Things That Go To Make Heaven And Earth, but the rest is kind of a snooze fest like you said.
-
I actually really enjoy the Music Blog. I wish there was a way to comment the posts though.
-
I'm using this thread to post comments. So there.
Nice article on the Talking Heads. Very well written.

I'm planning on writing a career retrospective on the Dirty Three, just so you all know. I have all their albums on my iPod plus a couple of lesser-known releases, and I'm ready to go.
Hopefully I can get it up on the blog by the end of the week.
-
That shiny white background is a bit too much for my eyes to handle most mornings. But I try to read it.
-
plus a couple of lesser-known releases
Oh?
-
Which reminds me Harry, thank you for your blog post about Martin Martini and the Bone Palace Orchestra. I found their album the other day and its pretty goddamned delicious. I am really hoping they are up in Brisbane some time in the near future.
-
plus a couple of lesser-known releases
Oh?
The Sharks E.P. that I put up in the sendspace thread a while back and the Lowlands album which was originally (like Sharks) tour merch only but which can now (unlike Sharks) be bought through the Anchor & Hope website (http://www.anchorandhope.com/). Plus when I get home next week there should be a copy of the Live at Meredith album that I bought off the website last week.
thank you for your blog post about Martin Martini and the Bone Palace Orchestra.
You're welcome! I'm glad you managed to find a copy of their album, I believe it was entirely self-funded and self-released. Definitely see them live if you get the chance, the album is great but only captured an nth of their live awesomeness.
-
Guys, Shhhhhhh...
Look at the poor guy. So tired. It's okay if he maybe is allowed to sleep before he writes for the blog right?
-
I do! I just wish there were a way I could write on it without being new the message board.
Alas.
-
The blog needs more drone doom in it.
-
Seconded.
also: Merzbow released an album in May and nobody (including myself) noticed. Ratify this.
-
Is the site playing up for anyone else? I put up a small article last night and it doesn't seem to be showing on the main page (even when I click refresh, even when I try a different browser) but it shows up if you click on the September archive. Peculiar!
-
I'm getting the same thing Inlander. But at least it shows up there.

Is it labeled as a draft? I've accidentally posted things as drafts when I use blogger - they won't show up on the main page.
