Since listening to Tallahassee I don't cuss as much. I think it made me a better man.

In my experience the Mountain Goats are one of those bands/John Darnielle is one of those dudes where whenever you're listening to them, you're not listening to anything else for weeks. And then you go away and listen to other stuff for a while, and then you remember them and come back to them, and you go Oh man, the Mountain Goats! and you don't listen to anything else for weeks again.

Hey tommy, Kieffer, let's all review our favourite Mountain Goats albums for the blog!
Or not, you know, whatever.
-
Compile a playlist of your favourite unreleased Mountain Goat's songs. There's enough good ones to make an album from. Maybe two.

Mountain Goats are one of those bands (see also Bonnie 'Prince' Billy and Jason Molina) that have such extensive back catalogs I find it nearly impossible to keep it all sorted out in my head. Doubly so for Bonnie 'Prince' Billy and Jason Molina, who have collectively recorded under approximately 12.5 million different names.
I have Get Lonely on vinyl. It made me not want to kill myself the first time I listened to it. Any album good enough to ease one of my depressive phases is highly recommended.

I actually have a link to a download of every mountain goats record, including early maxi singles and demo cassettes, if people are into it.
-
Anyways check PMS.
-
Are you talking about that atease discography thread, because if so, they have a lot of mountain goats stuff.
This actually reminded me that I like We Will Shall All Be Healed, so now I'm downloading enough to kill my computer.
Thanks for the reminder Kieff.

Dirk, I really want that file. Real bad. I have one Mountain Goats album and am keen to hear more. Really when you think about it, not giving me that file would make you some sort of criminal.

This would pretty much make my life.

i;ve had a few flings with the mountain goats.
they are very on-again-off-again for me. i'll hear a brilliant song and remember them, then a few days later move on.
they're good in short doses for me.

We shall all be healed has my favorite song on it, but the early cassettes that are incredibly lo-fi are amazing too. Get Transmissions to Horace.

Next to seeing Vanessa Hudgens naked, this is the best thing I've seen all week!

For anyone interested in some life stuff you can download a great set on the internet archive. He is quite talkative between songs, at least he was when he came to Athens.

Guys, that link contains a plethora of discography's. Use this wisely.
I think someone came close to getting the entire Fall discography onto a webpage.
Amazing.
