Hi! I made them in June but only now had time to treat the photos at Photoshop, my camera isn't very good.
I hope you all enjoy, it was my first time with epoxi!
The making of can be seen here (http://lanika.multiply.com/photos/album/42/Making_of_-_Pintsize_e_Winslow). Text is in brazilian portuguese but I can translate it if someone asks. Pintsize was my first try and lives at my home office, Winslow was made as a gift for my boyfriend (Valentine's Day in Brazil is June 12) and is also a container that can hold pendrives and, sure, iPods inside it :)

Winslow finally has a purpose in life!
Seriously, I am extremely impressed. I wish my art looked as good as that when I tried. Which is rare.
-
Very cool!! What did you use to make them?
-
That's super awesome! I'm impressed.
-
ahh man someone needs to make a winslow ipod sleeve!!!
-
Damn you for saying that. Now I'll have to do it.
-
Very cool!! What did you use to make them?
Styrofoam, epoxy and wire for both, Pintsize uses an old CD as basis and cut drinking straw for joints :D
Winslow insides are made recycling an empty pill card box covered with black suede paper to avoid scratchs on the iPods or pendrives he holds, same material used on the basis he's sitted on. They were painted using common acrylic craft paint. I used Superglue where necessary.

Planning to do anything else to them?
I've tried to build pintsize twice in wood, but i can't get the head right. I guess winslow is a little bit easier, i might try him in wood too.
-
Those are both very cool. Very nicely done!
-
Yeah, I shall paint Pintsize's eyes, mouth and limbs to match the comic, but right now I'm just being lazy :)
I would love to see Pintsize carved in wood. I believe your problem with his head is proportion. It's a lil' tricky, but you shall succeed if you consider this: the circle area you use for his head must be enough to put the rectangle of his body inside it, but not much bigger than this, ok? His hands and feet by their turn fit INSIDE the rectangle used for the body. I used strips like 805 and 855 between lots others for reference.

Those are EPIC! I love them :D Do you...plan on making more? maybe selling them...?
-
I want one.
Has anybody ever considered approaching Jeph to market sculptures/figurines/action figures?
-
winslow ipod sleeve PLEASE JEFF!!!
-
Winslow iPod sleeves and other cool thingies would rock my world!!! Saturday is my birthday, hope Jeph listens to us! :)
I could do other statues, I think. They're cheap to do, mostly using recycling stuff and lots of patience and I'm really really happy about the great feedback, it's my FIRST attempt at sculpting anything in life :D
The trouble about doing it for any of you is that... well... I live in BRAZIL. We would have to study the costs to Fedex it. After solving the transporting issues, I guess I could give it a try lol
My boyfriend must give me a new kit for sculpting for my birthday so, who knows, maybe I'll try another QC statue, but I dig more doin' the anthropcs, the humans seem so much more hard to do!!!!!
-
Wow, those are very well done. Bravo!
-
I disagree, there are many extrememly ugly iPod sleeves. Let's redress the balance!
Except... I don't have an iPod.
-
ahh man someone needs to make a winslow ipod sleeve!!!
I'm definitely working on that!! Just check out the "paper winslow" topic.
-
wow, you seriously pwned me. My paper winslow is nothing compared to your winslow sculpture.
-
i wish i could see the pictures but they keep coming up with the little red crosses!
is this just my comp doing that?!

Would you be allowed to sell them?
