I thought it was supposed to come out tomorrow but the store said they didn't have it yet. Did anyone manage to pick it up or see it at a store?
-
It did come out yesterday. At least, it did in places where albums come out on Tuesdays. In Vancouver though, based on reports from friends, I know a few places had it already during the weekend, but that's likely because the band has Vancouver links. Some stores may just not have received their order yet.

The worst part about leaks is that you tend to completely ignore when things come out. I don't know when it's coming out but it is awesome as all get out. I'd be seeing them in a few days if it weren't for the fact that I am going to like 15 concerts this month.

It's a really great album. Far better than their first even. "Up on Your Leopard, Upon the End of Your Feral Days" is one of the best songs I've heard all year. Truly awesome stuff. I got the leak a while back and haven't had a chance to check out the actual album but I might pick up a copy/try my best to catch them live.

I got an advance press copy (woo!) of the album, but I thought it was supposed to come out NEXT tuesday? That's when my review of it is running, anyhow, because I'm SURE I had read Oct. 9 with regards to the new album. Maybe they moved it up a week to battle the leakage.
It's really really good though, definitely a contender for my favourite of the year.

I am going to marry Sunset Rubdown maybe

Oh fuck that first guitar solo gives me such a joygasm it should be illegal

I'm seeing them on Halloween, I can't wait.

I should get around to listening to this soon, though for some reason between this, the New Pornographers album, and the Frog Eyes album, I can't help but wonder when we're going to see a new Destroyer release...
-
Dan Bejar isn't in Sunset Rubdown, dude. And as far as I know, he didn't collaborate at all on Tears of the Valedictorian. He tends to pop out an album every 1-2 years despite all his collaborations anyhow, and Rubies was still just last year, so I'm not worried/wondering yet.
-
Yeah but he is part of that little Swan Lake Krug/Mercer incestuous clique thing. Going from thinking about Sunset Rubdown to thinking about Destroyer is not too far of a jump.
-
Yeah, Swan Lake is pretty awesome. Destroyer - great music or greatest music?

I'm seeing them the next night. Please don't get them too drunk so they're all hungover here. (I also can't wait)
