So I recently got Halo 3, and I started playing the single player on legendary but once I hit the online option, I haven't gone back... Online is just mayhem. Anyone else enjoying Halo3? Post spoilers if you're going to give something away.
btw my gamertag is "A Frickin Laser" so if you are up to the challenge, add me

I'm probably going to pick up Halo 3 sometime next week, probably after I turn in my midterm on Thursday. I'm not a particularly big fan of Halo, but all of my friends are playing it, so I'm basically being peer pressured into it.
-
You have Xbox Live yet, Storm? Halo is just another title until you factor in multiplayer.
I'm not a fan of matchmaking, but custom games are a blast, and Forge is a huge bonus. I love the gameplay options I can come up with on this game. GT: Melodik.
-
I will shortly. I can register my console with the residential network in my dorm (as soon as I get around to remebering to send that damn email) and then I'll sign up for Live. I'm trying not to do it right now because of the aforementioned midterm (and because I think the office is only open M-F).

Halo is just another title until you factor in multiplayer.
Then it becomes another title with multiplayer.
Get the Orange Box.
-
I already have the Orange Box. In fact, it was techncially shipped to me a day before the street date.

I already have the Orange Box. In fact, I was technically playing TF2 a month before the street date.
TF2 is wonderful, and it appeals to me more than Halo 3's matchmaking. But Forge + custom game variants + saved films means the replay value is incredible. Me and a bunch of friends have been playing our own variants every night, and we run at least an hour of my personal favorite, Baja Racing. Mongooses + Brute Shots = Win.

I'm renting this from Gamefly as soon as possible. I hated the first two games but the multiplayer sounds really goddamn good.
I mean, if it ever becomes fucking available at Gamefly I'll be getting it.
-
I need to get Live working again for myself. This consists of wiring a cable to the room with the tv. My gamertag is WaywardGamer.
I'm not going to cry fanboy here too much, but the Halo games have really been a big part of my life for the past years, as it was the most fun I had at home when my friends couldn't leave the house. The multitude of good things I have to say about the games outweight the bad for me, so you don't need to take my opinions on the game for worthwhile, I love them. Give the multiplayer a shot though, because the time I've had playing it has been an amazing time.

Man. I have Halo 3. I've played the multiplayer a while.
It is not anything special. It is pretty much the definition of lowest common denominator.
3/5 + 7/9 = 18/x
Solve for x.
x = Halo
Shadowrun was a better multiplayer experience.
-
got it the day it came out, have now gone through single player on Normal and Heroic, and have reached the rank of Sargent in multiplayer
for what ever reason I have begun to hate match making since it always seems to set me up with horrible teammates, though i still prefer it to TF2's match making
-
I always play Lone Wolves. I'm also trying to beat the game on legendary my first try.. I'm at Tsavo Highway but it's sooo hard grrrrr
-
I play! Though, I am very chatty and goofy if I'm playing with my sister. My gamertag is Bryan is Smilin (there is spaces).
-
I don't have it, but I play with any of two of my roommates and a friend who have it. It feels a lot more balanced than Halo 2, and just the sheer number of possibilities available gametype-wise have made it pretty crazy and fun so far.
The single player is pretty fun. My roommates both have all the skulls, and I played through most of it on legendary with them, and a few levels on normal/heroic with almost all the skulls (to get the 15k per level achievements). I really enjoy Tsavo Highway in particular.
-
It's all I've been playing lately. It's my new addiction.
-
I've had it since the day it came out but with all the homework my professors suddenly started to assign i've only been able to play on weekends. my gt dasqrerootoneg1, and my computer can't handle the orange box. so i've only been able to play portal and tf2 on a limited basis, meaning only 5 levels of portal. my steam account get ready for a shocker dasqrerootoneg1.
-
You would probably be better served posting your Steam account in the Steam thread. It's on the first page right now, so you can't miss it. The Orange Box thread also looks ideal for giving out Steam accounts.
-
The problem with the series for me is that it looks pretty, but I get yanked out of the experience because the dialogue for the marines that run around with you sounds like they hired a couple of frat boys and told them to keep it PG-13 and the bad guys yell random shit that is just completely inappropriate to the fact they are alien bad guys trying to kill me.
I realize Bungie has been doing this since Marathon, but it just doesn't work for me anymore.
-
It's the first Halo game I've ever played all the way through. Multiplayer is wicked fun, even with just two people.
DAN HAVE YOU BOUGHT YOUR COPY YET
IT IS BEER AND HALO WEEKEND
-
My friends and I played through it the night it came out. Multiplayer is fun, and Co-Op rules, but I swear to the merciful gods (the one or two that the not-so-merciful gods haven't killed yet) I hated the ending. IT BROUGHT NO CLOSURE!
-
In the end, the first Halo's story was touted by fans so much that I think it outgrew itself, and Bungie wasn't able to handle the property the way that everyone wanted them to. You can have great ideas, but it's also the way you tell the story that makes the story.

DAN HAVE YOU BOUGHT YOUR COPY YET
IT IS BEER AND HALO WEEKEND
NO, BUT I BEAT YOUR COPY. WOO BEER.

I can't quite decide whether Halo CE or Halo 3 has the better co-op experience. In my mind, 2 players at 2 in the morning will always be the ideal experience, in a living room in front of a big TV with lots of popcorn.
Then again, this ideal may change drastically as soon as I can convince my girlfriend to play...
-
I don't get all the hype about Halo 3.
It's just a game, right?
-
It's good to see that the most overrated game series of all time is continuing it's tradition of turning out mediocre, relatively unoriginal and uninspired FPS games to legions of rabid fans who eat shit like it's caviar. Oh, wait...I meant to say it's downright depressing.
-
I think that a good majority of the hype comes from people that think so negatively about it. It would not be nearly as popular if so many people didn't hate it with the burning passion of a thousand suns.
-
I liked Halo 3. The dialogue wasn't nearly as funny as the first two, but I digress.
The last mission is really fun, especially doing it co-op. My buddy adn I spent twelve hours doing that mission, over, and over, and over again. And plus its really great to get a lot of your buddies together and do a HUUUUUUGE multiplayer game.
