Does anyone else listen to this great instrumental band?
If not I recommend you listen to a couple of their tracks! Try Seventeen Years and Germany to Germany for starters :)
Generally I find that most people haven't even heard of them, which is a shame because personally I think they are amazing :(

Jeph recommended them on one of the old "Recommended Listening" pages, therefore everyone here's heard of them. Or at least a bunch of them.

Pretty much, yeah. My favorite off of the 1st album is El Pico, though.
Also, I think they put out an album of people rapping over their tracks recently, no? Some of the tracks, especially on Classics, seem like they are just begging for it.

Saw them in St Louis last april. They do some cool shit with projecors and they manage to reproduce the songs live almost perfectly.
I ran into their bass player after the show, too. He's a nice guy.

Ratatat is pretty ace, though I haven't found any of their albums in stores - only heard the MySpace bits with terrible quality. Of what I've heard, Seventeen Years and Loud Pipes are my favourite tracks.
Those are great tracks, Loud Pipes is one of my favorites and they brought the place down when they played 17 years.
Try listening to Cherry, Lex, and Breaking Away, those are great songs too.

I really don't see how this follows. They're still a good band though. I'd say they're fairly well known.

Its called Ratatat Remixes the album has loads of rapping over the top by G Unit, Jay Z, Ghostface Killa, Method Man, Dizzee Rascal etc. not really my cup of tea, the only rap I can seem to tolerate is Roots Manuva the singer just has an amazing voice.

there have been two Remixes compilations, which are things where they mash themselves up against mostly 90s gangsta rap. They are awesome.
I just came home from seeing them live again, one of the mos energetic live acts i've ever seen.
