Om live in Jerusalem. 50 people crammed into a tiny room in the back of Uganda (http://www.uganda.co.il/) while Al and Chris go insane and keep on playing for 5 hours. Occasionally Al stops, runs out of the room, and comes back after a few seconds. One time he ran out of the room and started closing all the doors and shutting off all of the lights in the small venue/record shop, and then ran right back into the room.
At the end of the night it was six other people and I sitting on the floor while Chris and Al go from relaxed jamming to grabbing the console, turning everything up as high as possible, and then running to his amp and throwing it up to fucking 11. I went out to get some air and coffee around 2:15, and at that time, from what I heard, the whole thing got reduced to Al crying and group hugging.
Apparently it's going to be an album. I know for a fact that the show was recorded, and Al kept saying "This night. Tonight. It's an album".

In this case I am totally cool with crying.
Nothing that fun has ever happened in Bournemouth.
-
Wow. Amazing.

The show in Tel Aviv was also really amazing. Al and Chris were sober this time, and the show was a bit more coherent. Plus Al forgot about his Jerusalem Syndrome so there was a bit less crying. This doesn't mean they didn't drag out the encore to an awsome jam, that really fucked up a lot of ears.
They also played every song at least three times.

Thanks for imagining the best concert I could possibly conceive of for me. Oh wait, this was real life?
I love the world.
-
That is beyond cool. I would pay quite a lot of money to have seen that.

I went to a Mt. Eerie show in this little venue. (http://b8.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/00475/84/42/475012448_l.jpg) It was pretty much the most ridiculously awesome show you could imagine. I think maybe a few people were at least close to crying.

you should convince Om to come to Kansas, cause it is totally as cool as Jerusalem. Like, you have no idea.
we have waterslides.

Mount Eerie is fantastic live, especially in venues like that. I saw him play in a venue of campus here of about that size (perhaps a bit smaller). He played for an hour and a half - all requests which means we heard the all the best songs from all the albums by both The Microphones and by Mount Eerie. Truly beautiful, fantastic stuff. And yes, pretty much tear inducing. Also all the times I've seen Sigur Ros have made me cry.

I'm going to Kansas.
-
fuck crying

It's actually possible that Om will do a U.S. tour next year, as they have already released some January tour dates for California.
-
Yeah, but there is this stunning trend where everyone just kind of circles around Kansas and goes to every other state that borders us.
I don't blame them.
-
Perhaps you should save so you can take a road trip to see them. I'll probably be in session at Knox in Illinois at the time, so maybe we can both catch a possible St. Louis show. That would be rad.
-
I have a friend who went to that show.
I think.
-
Nothing wrong with crying, but oversensitivity dominates our culture.
-
I did not start this thread to talk about crying.
I wanted to talk about the awsome live show Om puts out if you let them.
-
I urge everyone here to read that first post without the articles.

I told a bunch of ladies in a womans bathroom tonight that not only was I ok with crying, but that sometimes I cried in front of a mirror.
True story.
And yet, surprisingly enough I did not get laid tonight

I already have a few trip plans that I'm saving up for (I was going to go to No Fun Fest 08 until I realized it conflicted with school schedules), but if they announce a tour at the right time I could definitely fit a St. Louis stop in.
