Title: ITT: I learn about drum hardware from you.

Eh, so my brother bought a kit recently. It is a standard 5-piece with a crash on a straight stand and a '18 crash/ride on another straight stand, with a splash on top of it on a foot-long vertical extender thing.

Pardon my decidedly amateur terminology. Anyway, I have two questions:

1. my brother is a fan of outside-the-box sounds, so he wants to mount a cowbell, tambourine, and triangle. This can be done on a single piece of hardware, correct? What would that be called and where could I get one? 

2. What is the best way to mount that splash without going and buying a boom stand? I think my bro is going to buy a full-size ride soon, perhaps I could piggyback it on that better than the '18 c/r?

I don't know how you can mount that stuff except to hang it on things.  I seem to recall seeing a stand that held a horizontal tambourine rather stiffly, though, but I don't remember where I saw it or even if that was actually what I saw.

On a side note, are you gonna be bringing the kit to Knox?  Because I'm bringing my kit.  We could be like the sorry versions of Eric and James.

He should mount the tambourine on the tom.

on the tom or tom mount? 

because I've mounted stuff on my tom mount instead of a tom before, like a cowbell

Negatory. My brother and I share it, so I can't really take it places. It's only about an hour away though, so I could probably borrow it for special occasions. Alternatively, we could haul yours down to macomb. I have a soundproofed practice space with a bass + amp and my guitar stuff.
