Thank you Jeff, if you ever see this.
I really don't want to seem like a pathetic sad fan girl but...
I don't call myself a comic artist. I don't do regular enough issues. I'll draw when I have inspiration then stop when the block hits.
And when I'm frustrated with my artwork sometimes I wonder why I bother.
But I then I think about QC. I've loved all it's stages, watching the experimentation with forms and styles and the daily evolution of the characters. I love to go back to the start and see how the art work has developed.
And I use it to remind myself how far I myself have come.
And using QC as a reminder to not only set my goals higher, but celebrate my progress I've managed to come from this http://i28.tinypic.com/vdmwd2.jpg
to this http://i27.tinypic.com/10r0ket.jpg
I still have a long way to go but, I want to thank Jeff. QC is an inspiration and a great pick up at the end of a bad day.
And no I am not going to plug my "comic" =D ... other then these pictures I'm shy =D
I just wanted to thank an inspiration.
Thank you.

Uhm, just wow @ second picture. Anything made with another program than MS Paint is cool for me. I never bothered learning to use one of 'em, but lately I've been into fireworks. Still the evolution is quite remarkable, I'm not of an artist nor Jeph myself but I would encourage you to keep writing and even publishing your comics =)
Regards,
-
I'm sure Jeph has already seen this, no worries. Even though this thread is completely be-a-dick-worthy, I have to soften up and say that I think your heartfelt thanks is pure enough to be left unriddled. Even though grammar, spelling, and syntax are a bit flaky, I admire your ability to reach out for inspiration. I hope people realize that yours is a pretty cool example of labor to look up to.

Ouch...purple....it burns us
-
Oh, right. Also, even though we all enjoy a nice, modest post, please keep it black. Purple really does burn. It is like acid. Internet acid.
-
Aww shucks I'm ashamed at myself for even bothering to reply to this..... but I am only human. This will be my last response (I hope) since bickering on the net is like the special Olympics... win or lose...
I thought it novel to demonstrate admiration for someone other then oneself. Maybe I should have followed the trend and pick at the flaws in QC, rather then it's merits. I might earn me a lil grammar Nazi net cred then.
And this is why I stopped attending forums.
You can't converse with people these days. People are so hung up on how someone says something, they don't listen to what's being said.
And an honest 'thank you' is broken down into grammatical analysis.
It's as tactful and relevent to a topic as stopping a debaist with a lisp mid speech to suggest elocution lessons.
Apologies to all and sundry for my be-a-dick-worthy acid purple post. Somewhere in there was a genuine message of appreciation for a person who's artistic progress, at least, I hold in esteem.
-
Wow.
-
What the hell just happened?
I am so confused.
-
Oh...what was that phrase again?
Hmmmm....
Oh right...Constructive Criticism
I remember now
-
I'm sorry Neskah. I really thought I was complimenting you. Your modesty overwhelmed me. Don't read this as being sarcastic, I truly thought I was paying you respect. I certainly meant no disrespect.
-
If we were going to be dickish, we would...
nevermind. I won't.
-
I see. I obviously missed the nuances in the be-a-dick compliment.
Rather then isolate myself in an indulgent sulk I'll grin and say "whatever, that was so last week."
On the flip side, I've been on the QC forums before, and was intimidated by the many be a dick attitudes.
It took a look of Pansy arse courage for me to post my fappish Thanks, fully aware that I would most likely be mocked. You hit me where it hurts. My cowardice.
Thank you for not being a dick.
-
What? Rereading MS's post, he is complimenting you. He's also pointing out things that you know people on this board are touchy about (grammar, colored text, etc) which most people know, yet some are still reminded even when they've been around long enough to acumulate over 1000 posts. And since you've been around as long as you have, you should know this by now.
That said, you've improved greatly and I think the second pic is pretty awesome.

Guys this thread should be about how pretty I am
I'm so pretty
-
I dunno Jeph, Jon fancies himself to be quite the pretty dude.
-
Jeph is beautiful . He is a pretty pretty pony.
-
I greatly admire his rainbow plume. And earlobes.
-
Is he from Pony Island? Because that's just...uh...wait, aren't all the ponies homosexual on Pony Island? ARE YOU SAYING JEPH IS GAY?
I really need to have some coffee guys, this sugar crash isn't going down well.

Guys this thread should be about how pretty I am
I'm so pretty
My girlfriend did say you were pretty hot.
....you bastard, you.
-
I am disappointed in this thread. We should not be talking about how pretty Jeph is, because he is too pretty. It just doesn't work to talk about Jeph being pretty, there's no point. Prettiest should just end the topic.
So, here's the deal. I thought I was being nice, but apparently I was not. I am sorry for this. We should get together and reconcile ourselves!
-
Neskah just needs to be thankful I didn't get involved in here...
-
This thread, by rights, should be allowed to die peacefully. It's been derailed from it's intended course. Going over the scenario won't revive the dead.
If the comments were meant to be kindly, then the intent is all that matters really. I inadvertently offend people all the time.
So... okay sorry I got my panties in a bunch.
R.I.P Thank you Thread. You will be remembered.
On to more important Matters. Jeph is the prettiest, pranciest, pony. All hail....

two things:
1) That is seriously a nice transformation/change/improvement in the art style, kudos.
2) Jeph, you are so pretty it hurts sometimes.
-
You've done a terrific job of developing your style. I think you've become a very good artist. Keep up the good work.

Regards,
I take offense to this.. What with being a pixel artist, and paint can produce Bitchin' art if you know what you're doing.. (Kidding and not kidding at the same time...)
Anyway on topic, that is an amazing leap you took there for your art, and If i was to ever meet Jeph.. I would probably agree.. I have not seen him, so i can only imagine a dude dancing in a tutu.
