Hey im looking for a suggestion of a videogame to buy today

I have

A nintendo ds
Sony psp
xbox 360
playstation 2
macbook pro
Wii

I am not a hardcore gamer but i have played quite a few games, i generally like anything that will suprize me. I have really enjoyed both the Fallout and Metal Gear and Final Fantasy series. Anything with either a really unique control style or an engaging story. Thanks for the help QC forums.

Get Phantom Hourglass for the ds and halo 3 for the 360.

Is 'Halo 3' some weird Scottish spelling for 'The Orange Box,' like how you guys throw a u into color? I'd hate to think you're recommending him over-hyped junk like Halo 3 when there are games like The Orange Box to be bought.

Also, buy Dead Rising for 360.

Halo 3 is alright but i do agree that it is way over hyped. I couldn't wait for it to come out but i don't have an xbox 360 so i had to wait to play it cause i don't know anyone who has a 360. Finally got to play it yesterday and i was really dissapointed. I was expecting full on orgasmic game play but it was pretty much the same as halo 2 with a few different guns. The graphics wern't much better and you can't duel weild needlers any more.

The orange box would be a much better buy, even just for TF2.

Wait...why did you even recommend Halo 3 to him in the first place?

It's still a good game, and i did enjoy playing it but it wasn't the unbelievable brilliance i had worked myself up to believe it would be.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm super psyched about Patapon for the PSP coming out in February.

Patapon does look awesome, but I don't have a PSP yet and I'm worried if I buy one all I'll get for it will be that game and Jeanne D'Arc.

Also, he has a Wii but nobody has suggested No More Heroes yet? For shame.

First off, Final Fantasy XII for PS2. Its a great game and it will keep you plenty busy; I'm at 130 hours and not done with it yet.
Secondlly, Phantom Hourglass for DS as was already said.

Actually my copy hasn't arrived yet either. In fact, Amazon is out of stock and won't be shipping it out until Thursday, which bodes surprisingly well for the game's commercial performance but means that because I got slow shipping I might not get the game for over two weeks.

There's a lot of good PSP games coming out lately, actually.  Since I bought mine, I got the Final Fantasy Tactics remake, Jeanne D'Arc, Ultimate Ghost and Goblins, and Castlevania X Chronicles.

So 2 of them are remakes, 1 is a sequel to a long running series, and the other is a warped version of the history of France.  Still doesn't bother me.  If I could get platformers on other systems but handhelds anymore, I totally would.

I'll probably wait at least until Wipeout Pulse, God of War, and Crisis Core are out for the PSP before I make a final decision. Hopefully it won't be impossible to find Patapon by then.

I bet that one sticks around longer than you'd expect.  After all, it's not overly difficult to find a copy of LocoRoco even now.

We Love Katamari, for the PS2, is very strange and very very cool.  You roll around, and things stick to you.   Eventually, this includes lawnchairs, cows, apartment buildings...  you get the idea.

and rather than buying a game, how about www.wesnoth.org ?  it's a fantasy strategy game that's turn based.  I warn you, if you like this kind of game do. not. get. it. while you have other things to do.

Bioshock is the shit, but I have it for the PC

I'm going to have to second Wesnoth as far as free games go.  It can be rather frustrating as the game developers decided upon a rather asinine hit percentage system that proves luck is more important than skill in many cases, BUT it's still very fun.

You can't talk about Gamecube games without mentioned Resident Evil 4. Or just wait for Resident Wiivil.
