Anyone excited about this? i liked the clone wars miniseries more than the new trilogy.
Here is a video intro.

It will be shown in theaters and then continued as a tv show on Cartoon network.

Fuck George Lucas and his Star Wars Crap.
The first three (IV, V, VI) were good, but everything after that sucks

Well, no, not really. The Clone Wars tv series was directed by Genndy Tartakovsky and was nothing short of brilliant. With almost no speech, great attention to detail and some fantastic action set pieces. This is coming from somebody who thought there was nothing redeeming at all about the prequel films.

I hope they do a great job with this innovative twist on the Star Wars galaxy, because Genndy Tartakovsky's vision of the Clone Wars is unique and a good change from George Lucas's addiction to special effects.

Usually, anything set in the Star Wars universe without Lucas's direct involvement is pretty awesome. The post-Jedi EU gets pretty ridiculous because of bad writers, but there's also stuff that's ridiculously good.
I don't know how I feel about this yet, though. I loved Tartakovsky's series and it actually made me excited for Episode 3 (where my excitement was dispatched about as quickly as General Grievous) but I don't really think there needs to be more.

I was hesitant at first since I liked the old Samurai Jack style animation, but if he can deliver the same thrill in this as in the 5 min shorts then I will watch it.

The Clone Wars cartoon that was on a few years back was absolute gold.
My friend had to practically tie me to a chair to get me to watch it, but after I did I was hooked.
I'll agree that I enjoyed it way more than the prequel trilogy, although Revenge of the Sith had some good points, even if the "noooo" scene was one of the most ridiculous bits of cinema in recent history.

After Episode I I kind of lost hope for all things Star Wars Prequel.
But I do have hopes for this. The original shorts were fantastic. Aside from the animation the manner in which the story was told was different than the movies, which added a lot.
I also think that because this story is off the beaten path that it will be able to seperate itself from the other movies enough that, hopefully, it doesn't end up as contrived.
