I've seen a positive review or two, but has anyone heard it?
I remember going to see Bauhaus a couple years ago. My friend and I were two of the youngest people in the audience, so when the show ended at like 10:30 we were not surprised--after all, the rest of the crowd had to go pay the babysitter and stuff. Good show, though. Basically they played the tracklist of Crackle, which isn't that surprising.

There was a period where I listened to an obscene amount of bauhaus. I haven't heard the new record yet though. Peter Murphy's solo material has not been especially wonderful and... they're old, dudes.

Bauhaus are not dead?

I'm interested to hear it but come on people, Bauhaus was so much better once you took Peter Murphy out of the equation (in other words, Love and Rockets).

I know a girl who used to manage a Hot Topic. She gave me a Bauhaus shirt for free because apparently nobody was buying them.
I never thought I'd be nostalgiac for the days when Hot Topic was for Goth Lite Kids. Who the Hell is it for now?

Generic "edgy" kids. Wacky best friends of the American Eagle and Abercrombie & Fitch kids.
btdubs, seeing Bauhaus perform in the daylight was one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen.

Well, having listened to it thanks to Malorie uploading it (love you, freckles) I can safely assure everyone that it is pretty crap.
Some of the songs are not bad musically, but Peter is really not at his best on here. At all. I'm reasonably certain that not a single song is sung by Daniel Ash or David J. All I heard was a bunch of mid-tempo rock and Peterwauling. There's no "Slice of Life" on here, that's for damn sure. It's wholly unremarkable and seems aimed directly at againg Gothsters. The lyrics venture into parody territory.
Oh well, even if I had heard about it before today I would have expected it to pretty much suck anyway, so it's no loss.
No new tale to tell, if you will. (At least Love and Rockets are possibly back together.)

I don't think it's bad, but there aren't really any songs that I really enjoy either. Honestly, Love and Rockets and Peter Murphy's solo stuff are way better than it IMO.
Burning from the Inside was a way better way to end the band's career.

^^^^ I agree with all of that wholeheartedly.
You are a good new forum person, please stay around.

So fucking what, man? Mission of Burma still rock, and they're old.

Yeah, talked to my friend, the one who is helping me throw the goth dance party mentioned a month or so ago, and he said that on the whole the album was pretty underwhelming.

Mission of Burma never dressed up like this though:
