Hey all, got a request
Im looking for some way, perhaps a program of some sort, that lets me use the Desktop Background interactive. I like to use the background as a sort of constant reminder about important things, but going in and making a new picture every time gets to be annoying. If there was a way I could just put text and pictures in the background at a whim, like I was editing a picture, but not as a program. Basically, a blank page where I can have a .gif picture here, some text there, perhaps even some important links to another side, etc.
Anyone know of anything that can do something even remotely like this?

I'm a total noob at this. What program would I use for widgets?

I don't have any personal experience with it, but you can try yahoo! widgets (http://widgets.yahoo.com/download/)
It's just the same as any other program installation I assume.
Come tell us how it works out!

And kind of widget software will do. Google has widgets as part of their "Desktop" bundle.

Windows XP actually has this functionality built in. It's called "Active Desktop" and it allows you to set a web page as your desktop background, the idea being that you design the web page around your needs.
