So the Brothers Bishop have been doing a "tribute to/last SCG project ever" tour and tomorrow night it will be in Asheville NC, a mere hour or so from me. A friend and I have tickets and a hotel room reserved.
I suppose it would be too much to ask that there are any other people on here who are going to said show, or indeed, who even live within 200 miles of it.
At any rate, I am SO FUCKING PSYCHED.

OK so I was sitting front row exact center - less then ten feet from the bros. Bishop. Surprisingly nearly all the seats were full. I was honestly fearing there would only be like 12 people there. It was in a venue I hadn't been to before but plan on visiting again as it is a kind of weird cross between a truck stop on one side and an empty hall on the other (the seats aren't usually there). It's the kind of place where your basic bands like The Black Angels, Silver Jews, etc. play - not big, the stage is about a foot off the ground, but not ridiculously small either.
The Charles Gocher film was very good and I hope they release it on DVD. It made me feel like I was tripping even though I wasn't even so much as STONED, DUDE. I was drinking pretty fast though.
Here's the set list exactly as written, if you know the songs you can figure out the shorthand, as you can see it was very heavy on Dante's Disneyland Inferno which rocks since that's their best album imo.

I talked to Alan extensively at the merch table afterwards. Considering the sheer insanity of their albums, he is actually a super down to earth, approachable guy. In a very strange coincidence, he and I looked almost exactly the same - shaved heads, sunglasses, black dress shirts. He jokingly asked me if I'd planned it that way. I told him how absolutely rad it was that they played so close and he very humbly was all "No way, thank you for coming". They weren't sure there would be many people there either, but apparently Asheville has a secret anti-hippie scene which I will be exploring most vociferously in the future.
I'll try and post pics after work tonight or tomorrow since I finally have a day off then.
The only thing that sucked was: No t-shirts to commemorate this last official SCG hurrah.
