Title: Characters from Daria!

I dont know if this has been referenced before and since its 3am I dont fell much like looking but is it just me or do faye and dora seem to be loosely based on daria morgendoorfer and jane lane from the mtv cartoon daria

Well Daria has brown hair and glasses, and so does Faye. Dora has short black hair, and so does Jane.

See, Jeph has totally ripped off Daria's characters! They are so similar it is not funny! You could put them next to each other and not be able to tell them apart!

I see a slight resemblence, however I think Jeph's creations are more like the characters of the lesser known MTV animated series Downtown.....

Martin = Alex?
Faye = Jen?
Dora = Serena?
Jimbo = Goat?
Steve = Fruity?

It might be just me, but it's a pretty uncanny likeness!!

Perhaps they're actually based on The Simpsons? Marten is clearly Mr. Burns.

I assumed he originally designed the characters around modern politically correct gender stereotypes from other webcomics then branched them out from there.
