Title: Fabric Paint
Post by: Drill King on 08 Jul 2008, 15:48
I need to paint a flag for a festival I'm going to this year. Now, I've never painted on fabric, and before I buy any materials, I was wondering if you guys have any experience in the matter. What kind of paint/fabric/etc

You want fabric paint, probably waterproof in case it rains, and some cheap linen/canvas/denim/cotton thing. In craft stores, they're usually in the same isle.

It should be that the fabric paint can take an advantage in making some paint because of the super natural effects.

That spam post is incredible

Yeah, I would like to know more details about what the design specifically is.  The last time I painted a flag was in the sixth grade for our Greek and Roman day, but my mother paints on silk and canvas a lot so I could ask her what's up.  What sort of scale?  What is the subject matter?  Can I see?

When painting on fabric - choose the textile colours for the fabric you want to use correctly. No silk colours for balloon/parachute silk ;o). For a good flag, i recommend using silk. Great to paint on. Dont know if they are sold in the USA as silk colours, the firm is "Seidicolor". Waco Fin is great too for that job.

And in case of need, i guess you will get a book like this one in every bookshop around: http://www.amazon.com/dp/0855328029/
