Because Emo music is not deep, takes no talent, and has no meaning except for how miserable you think your life is.

Probably folk-punk, nobody can figure out what the hell it is anyways.

It's duelling n00bs and I'm in favour of the happy one. This 'Internet Hate Machine' person above me is a dick on at least two levels.

'Sugar, We're Going Down' is a great pop song, and the band's Racetraitor connections equal respect in my book. I would not, however, stay up all night for them (admittedly I don't entirely understand the question).

Paramore... if I had a chance of being near Hayley Williams, I'd stay up for a week straight, in the nude, at the North Pole. And I'd still be nude by the time I got near her, too. I also think they have some pretty well-written, well-produced pop songs.

Even so, anyone else smell a troll?

Every time I see a dude rocking out on an upright, I feel like a dork for having chosen to play electric bass.

That body-slapping thing is downright silly, though.

Bands!

One band i really like, and have in many occasions reccomended them to everyone, is Soulwax.

Soulwax is the band that best does the "electronic music can be rock music and you can dance to rock music" thing. They have a few albums out, and they do tons of excellent remixes.
They are also putting out a DVD soon!! It looks fantastic.

You can see the trailer here (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3tTGb-PiCw)

and a clip here (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=1Tk4f3I8cnA)

You can also now vote for Soulwax in the poll at the top

Congrats!  You have written the most ignorant thing I've read today!

Anywho, one can expand their horizons by visiting the nifty mediafire thread.

I would stay up all night with the girl from Paramore, if you get my drift.  I would not, however, stay up all night to see her band.  They are awful.

There should be a band named Bands.

I only thought this because the titles of relatively-amusing threads started by new people are almost always band names.

EDIT: Wikipedia says there was a Canadian-American rock and roll group named The Band (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Band).

There is also a band called The The.

Because Emo music is not deep, takes no talent, and has no meaning except for how miserable you think your life is.
I once heard a Fall Out Boy song that had no harmony whatsoever between the guitar(s?) and vocals; neither of them was in any key. I mean none at all, it's as if they used the spider riff for a reference on where to place chords.

On topic (with the quote), listening to Simple Plan is, at least for me, a hilarious experience, once you realize how old and rich they are. Not all emo music is complete rubbish, however. Much of it tends to be the music with the most emotion in it; I'm not talking about the mainstream, BTW. Evoking emotion is what art is about, so I guess a portion of emo music is good art.

I would not stay up to watch any of those bands, but I have never heard Soulwax. I would stay up 24 hours a day for a week in order to not see Fall Out Boy. Even if it meant being in an insane asylum for some syndrome caused by lack of sleep, it's still arguably better than suicide.

Sorry for quoting this again, but uh,

Also I liked how himynameisjulien edited his post to cover his ass.

I forgot to put in an actual answer to the OP. And thought of a better explanation of the song by Fall Out Boy, the name of which I can't recall. And realized that not all emo music is bad, just because the mainstream is, arguably, not too good, while listening to Motion City Soundtrack. Didn't think enough before posting, but I guess that's why the edit system is there.

Ahahahahahahahahahaha.  Anyway i felt like i needed to post this game: http://www.emogame.com/

Has anyone else seen that how to be emo movie either?  I can't remember the site it was on.  The one with the kid in the high pitched voice, "Kyle gets ALL the girls" (I know both the game and movie are years old, but i felt like reminiscing)
