Not a massive Oliver Stone fan - I hated Natural Born Killers, but this looks like fun!

I have no idea what to think of this...
-
The script is floating around online somewhere. I hate Oliver Stone. This movie is going to be atrocious, no doubt about it. Who would finance such drivel? Poorly cast, surely poorly directed. this is one I'll be skipping out on.
-
Oli Stone should just stop making movies.
-
pass
-
Hell of no.
I don't want to watch no dang movie simply designed to make me not like a dude I don't like already.
-
Oliver Stone's treatment of The Doors made me hate him forever. There was hardly any foundation in the actual story of the band in that movie. It's to the point where I will almost refuse to see any movie directed by him.
-
Oliver Stone either hits (Platoon, JFK, Natural Born Killers) or he misses (Alexander, etc.).
I suspect a miss, but I quite like the casting (although Thandie Newton is like the hottest actress alive, and thus doesn't fit the profile of bitch-queen Rice). Will be interesting to see.

Maaaan, I like quite a few of the actors casted, but I am not going to watch a movie about Bush. Eff that.
-
I might like some of the actors cast, I just think a lot of them were miscast, especially the Bush family. There are some poor, poor choices there.
-
Richard Dreyfuss is not nearly evil enough to play Cheney.
-
They could have at least waited until he left office to make this. Jesus.
-
I could of sworn it was coming out 2009 judging from the article i read. Also the video in the link does not work anymore.
-

How about Jon Loviitz as Richard Dreyfuss playing Dick Cheney? ;)
Yeah, that's also a movie I am going to skip. I can't stand watching ten seconds of the real Bush... I think two hours of him (even a fake one) would probably cause my brain to explode.
-
bush-hate is fucking boring. making an entire movie based off of viewpoints i can encounter on the walls of public toilet stalls is....inexplicably lame.
-
Boring but justified.

Boring but justified.
Hardly. He's just a man, a miserable pile of secrets like the rest of us.
-
Obviously it's going to the show a lot of stuff about his wild youth and his various indiscretions (drunk driving, skipping out on national service and son on), but it's the truth and it's all part of his life story, so it would be irresponsible and biased to not show it.
In all of the things I've read about this movie, Stone has stressed how he is not attempting to condone or condemn Bush, just present the events. I for one am incredibly interested to see how this will turn out, as I find Dubya's journey a fairly intriguing story. It's just a shame that it's real.

I totally agree!!

Also, it's slated for release next month.

I think it looks worth watching.Be hilarious if it got a Emmy or something.
Edit:
comment on one of the trailers
Looks like an Iranian propaganda film to me. Typical Hollywood liberal bullshit, just like Michael Moore. Hope the movie tanks at the box office, which I'm sure it will. We all know he has made mistakes as President, but one day everyone will look back and realize how strong of a President he was. He kept our nation safe and secure after the worst terror attack in history and he did what was right, no matter how much it cost him politically. Go Bush and Go McCain/Palin this November.
-
Yes, go now.
-
I actually think this looks pretty good.
It's weird, I hate most of Stone's films, but NBK and Wall Street are two of my favourite movies of all time...
-
The first trailer i thought it would be bad, but now after the second trailer i think it is more of a serious movie. Not like Oscar worthy but almost a comedy driven by a plot, like superbad, animal house, and so on which is hard to come by now adays with a farce being made every day, and comedy's that don't make there jokes from the plot but build plot out of jokes.
