This is the third strip off the top of my head where something like this happens to her. Remember the strip where she brushed her gums to death? And when they were at the bar and she drank something nasty?
I think it's terrible how many giggles I get from watching her painful antics. But at the same time I'm not sorry at all.
-
If she were a real person, we'd all go to Hell for laughing at her.
-
I actually didn't laugh at this one. The sheer look of terror on her face made me go "AWW POOR HANNERS!" and show the comic to everyone I knew who was online. . . none of them read QC though, so they were all like "haha, dumb girl"
-
If it's a bad enough injury, they'll need to shave her head (or at least the injury site) to properly close the wound.
You may now commence the fantasies about the bald Hanners.
-
Hanners is adorable. In that little lost puppy way. I think its sweet that Marten gave her the Worry Hat for comfort. Not so sweet that her head was cracked open by the cabinet corner of doom though. Either way, QC is the shit.

I did the exact same thing D:
i was near tears when she got hit
i hate when people get hurt >_<
poor hanners T_T
i hope shes okay T_T

At least she should know how to clean the blood up, and how to help wounds with ice.
Best case scenario: The blow to the head somehow reduces her OCD.
Worst case scenario: Hospital time. (Which actually might not be so bad; they sterilize their tools and have automatic hand sanitizer dispensers in every room.)

Gah, my scalp twinged a bit just seeing this. I hope this is relevant to something important to her (losing her OCD, meeting someone, etc.) and not just "Random hospital trip! Lets talk about it for a few strips." Not that I think Jeph is sitting at his computer with a bottle of scotch randomly drawing irrelevant things to fuck with us, but still.
-
There was also the time when Jeph made her cry. Yeah, that's right, not Marten. :-P
What's next, a raccoon will leap out of her refrigerator? Winslow will ask her, "Hannelore, do you like me?" and then reveal that he's not ready for a relationship?

Worry Hat
Bravery + 10
Charisma + 5
Special: No protection against critical hits

I'd never figured Hanners for a Battles girl. But there you go

I saw that and went "No way--no, wait, of course she loves Battles."
At first I thought Hanners was wonky and occasionally adorable, now she is awesome.

Well, in all fairness the drumming on that track is excellent, sounds pretty complex and yet has an ordered, chugging rhythm to it so I can see exactly why she be interested in it.

I realize it's a comic about hipsters, but isn't it a little off-putting that every character except Jimbo, Amir, and Natasha likes trendy/indie pop music? I suppose ther's Dora, also, but it looks like unless you're Jimbo, in QC Land you're either a hipster or you're into metal.

Raven isn't all that in to indi music either. She likes what she hears on the radio and has said so. I don't think we've ever learned what sort of music Penelope likes. Hanners is a fan of classical. Tai prefers European techno music. Sven likes indi, but also has at least enough interest in country music to write is successfully. A lot of characters do like indi. This isn't unusual. Most people have some sort of common interests with their friends.

How do you know Jimbo doesn't like trendy/indie music?
-
That a fair few people like Indie music isn't so hard to imagine when you consider the setting of the comic.
- If you would like est's next sentence to be "i.e: inside Jeph's mind" turn to page 126
- If you would like est's next sentence to be "Jeph's said in the past that it's loosely based on Northhampton, which is a college town and from what I have seen seems like the kind of place where a lot of young people would actually be into this kind of music" turn to page 111
