For the first time ever I saw the Scotch in their natural habitat, and it weren’t pretty. I’d seen them huddling in stations before, being loud but...this time I was surrounded. Everywhere I went it felt like they were watching me; fish-white flesh puckered by the Highland breeze; tight eyes peering out for fresh meat; screechy, booze-soaked voices hollering out for a taxi to take ‘em halfway up the road to the next all-night watering hole. A shatter of glass; a round of applause; a sixteen-year-old mother of three vomiting in an open sewer, bairns looking on, chewing on potato cakes. I ain’t never going back...not never.

Wait is this another RP thread or not

Well I've just thrown a six and a four, fuck you I'm glassing someone.
EDIT:
What Tommy said.

You are a true Highlander (scotch person)
There can only be one?
-
Ahaha. Darkplace.
-
I was born in Leeds, West Yorkshire. I'm English. I've lived in Scotland for approximately two years.
I guess I'll forgive you, being Mexican and all.
I'm Scottish and am constantly surrounded by Yorkshire people. Is it some kind of thing they do, go up to Scotland all the time?
-
Be careful. It's the wilderness up there. They still pee in their living rooms, and cover it up like a cat

f*ck off
-
Because they reckon they're hard as fuck.
-
Couldn't say.
I came up here because of work and cheap housing.
Also the wildlife.
-
Why do you guys keep posting that stuff in red?
because it turns up as red above the reply box
-
There's no good reason to post it, unless you're in the middle of a discussion and can't be bothered adressing your points to the people they're adressed to.
I like it, it's useful for when the conversation has moved on while you were posting. It's neat that it helps prevent what happens on a lot of other forums where every post starts with a quote of the post they're replying to.

You are a true Highlander (scotch person)
Scotch is a whisky. People are not scotch, they are scottish. If you were to say they were scotch that would imply that they were made of whisky.
Well, you know, they might be, because you are what you eat and all that, but that is not my point.
-
(Katie it's a quote from garth marenghi's darkplace. We watched an episode of it one time when we were at Benn and Maddy's.)
I mean.
FUKCL YUO KVP YOU RACIST!
-
Scotch is a whisky. People are not scotch, they are scottish.
They are scots.
-
Scots is a language.
-
Scot is a last name, too. In Scotland. You would think they would be like, in charge of the damn place. But no.
-
Scots is a language.
I am a scot.
You are a scot
He is a scot.
They are scots.
Trust me on this one.
-
So, essentially, there might be a person out there who could be referred to, very formally, as
Scotty Scot the greatest scot of Scotland?
-
Only if he truly was the greatest scot, but yes.
Also, Scots is the language, but scots speak Scots and DRINK Scotch.
-
Ye can alsea scrieve scots if ye ken the leid, but I ween yes all sassenachs.
-
Scots is not a language. It is a (variety of) dialect(s) of English. Scots Gaelic is a language, but there are only 4 people that can speak it.
Also the surname is quite often, although not always, written Scott. As in Sir Walter Scott, who wrote in English in the Scots dialect.
-
Scots is sae a tongue ye glaikit cunt.
-
Och awa' wi' ye, ya doss cunt. Ah'll brick ye in th' fuckin' pus if yer no carefu'.
-
Are ye fer celtic or rangers?
-
And so we come full circle to a night in Glasgow...
-

I am part Scottish! I belong in this thread too.
-
Well my mum's ancestors all came from Scotland. And PILLAGED IRELAND. TAKE THAT YOU POTATO EATING PAPIST PIGS.
And they all lived happily ever after.
-
I am part Scottish, from the clan Armstrong. I know this because my grandma has a weird obsession with genealogy.
-
I am representing the clan McAllister, from the Tarbert area. We have a tiny, crumbly castle and a nice plaid. And rumor has it my great great great (don't remember how many great, actually) great grandfather was once Prime Minister or Lord or President or whatever of Australia back in the 1800's somewhere. There is apparently more information on the subject in the genealogy my grandma has but I have not seen it.
-
Yay! Both our grandmas have nothing better to do than find out where we came from and drink shitty coffee... great.
-
My mum's Glaswegian. The first thing everyone asks me after meeting her is, "is your mum Scottish?"
