I'm in the process of furnishing my apartment, which involves building a lot of my own stuff. This is because I am A- cheap B- picky and C- crafty:D
My dresser- built from free scrap cedar that would have been otherwise landfilled (construction site waste). The top baskets are woven out of newspaper, but sadly not by me.

Wad lamp! This was a giant gold monstrosity of a lamp, with a huge off-white shade. Chucked the shade, sprayed the base glossy black. Screwed in one of those converter bits, turning the part where you screw the bulb in into a standard wall plug. Plugged in 2 strands of white xmas lights, and wound them around the lamp harp. I can control it with the normal light click on/off thing:)

The table underneath is made from a keg!
Skateboard shelf! Just the deck, pretty much speaks for itself.

Does having my printer sitting on an upturned cardboard box apply? I had to assemble the box, it was in the flat, broken down form. We also use speakers for shelves and tables, because we don't have real furniture in our apartment.

That is a cool lamp. I am jealous!
