Title: Dr.McNinja in COLOR
Post by: Patatat on 25 Aug 2008, 22:07
I don't know, I kind of liked it better in black and white.

What are your thoughts on this?

I think it's probably going to be like any other comic that has undergone a somewhat major art change (e.g; Scary Go Round and it's various transitions between computer-drawn to hand-drawn and back and forth) in that it'll be weird and disliked by a great deal of people for a while, and then you'll get used to it, and then you'll wonder how you ever read it not in colour.

Plus, Carly Monardo is SUPER freakin' talented.

Im pretty sure that its one of the greatest things to happen to webcomics... ever.

Im mostly kidding, but it is pretty awesome though.

Keeping in mind that less than 15 things have happened to webcomics, I would definitely put this on my list of the greatest ones.

It's pretty cool!  It doesn't make much of a difference to me.

I have no problems, because, unlike other artists, he can pull it off - many webcomics lack the artistic skill to do it and end up looking crappy. My only concern is that colouring takes up a lot of time and I'd rather see regular B&W updates than irregular colour ones.

I really wouldn't worry about update timing- Doc Hastings still has to do the same amount of work, because he's not doing the coloring himself. The recent dead week was because of a vacation.
And yes, I'm a huge fan of Monardo's other work, so I'm pretty excited about this.

I'm digging it so far.  Have to see how it continues, though.  I never thought the good Doctor had eyebrows that color, though.  Also, I like giant purple hulk monsters in color over black and white.  Blue ox jokes also couldn't be done in black in white.

Comic styles change just like the tides.
You either get washed up on the shore and like it, or you go back out to sea.

Eh, I liked it better b/w (I prefer most comics in b/w) but the coloring is at least done well. Mostly I don't like color because it stunts my precious imagination. But I will keep reading.

It gave birth to "Still paralysed though, huh?" which means it is possibly the greatest thing ever.

I think it looks awesome in COLOR.

(obligatory for any B&W/COLOR shift.)
