Those lyrics actually seem pretty good, anyone know if they're an actual band? I tried googling but my results came up null, anyone know for sure?

It is not, it is a pun of the Society for Creative Anachronism. You are terribly late on this one too, as it was discussed relatively extensively when that strip came out.

You should start in the Hi, I'm New thread, and don't let this minor chastisement discourage you.

I just reread this and SCRA is not a pun, wtf, me? an allusion woud be more on the mark.
