I need a way to convert color images to greyscale images and output them as JPEG for vigorous printing.
Any suggestions? Something that costs $0 or less would be ideal.
-
IrfanView. Not sure where I got it, but Google it and you might find it.
-
Can you not do that in photoshop or in gimp really easily? Just like Edit>colour settings>greyscale. I'd check but I've not currently got either program installed.
-
Well, you can. But he is asking for free programs. Photoshop costs a pretty penny, unless you pirate it.
Ahah. Accidental alliteration.

The Gimp (http://www.gimp.org/) is free.
-
Too complex for what I need. I found Irfranview for free and it does what I need. Thanks for the leads though! 8-)

The Gimp (http://www.gimp.org/) is free.
Oh, really? For some reason, I was under the impression you had to pay for it, but for significantly less than Photoshop.

ctrl+shift+U

Another great thing about IrfanView is batch-processing. If you are doing the same thing to every picture, you just select all the pictures you want to do it to, specify a folder for it to put the new files, and a naming convention, and it will do it all super quick without you having to do it on each picture.

You're probably thinking of Pixel or Paint Shop Pro.

I don't like this game.
