Current 93 - Black Ships Ate the Sky (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9q1FomLSkw)
Really, I can't think of much worse. Any dissenters?
-
I am just barely non-sober and... jesus christ on a segway, that was bad. Good choice.
The video (w/ the lyrics and all) reminded me of something else as well: http://youneedalawn.ytmnd.com/ (http://youneedalawn.ytmnd.com/)
the fact that it's on YTMND adds a whole 'nother layer of shameful tastelessness as well.

Any of it, really.
-
Holy crap that album scares me to death when I'm totally sober in every sense. I can't image what it would be like whilst in a unstable state.
-
One Night In New York City, The Horrorist
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVgjC5Gw8y0
-
I think we should probably disregard noise (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFpkNf1M6LQ), although that track kinda makes me laugh. The noises though...would not touch with a ten foot barge pole on any psychedelics.
-
Not including noise or heavy, heavy drone type stuff...Diamanda Galas? The first time I saw Double Barrel Prayer (sic) on youtube I thought the gun was a pile of shit.
-

-
I do not know what that means, I would like to know, but I fear that I will regret it.
Blow My Whistle Bitch, DJ Alligator. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0qwZKDKJU8
You shouldn't even listen to it when you're sober, it's a terrible terrible song. P.S. There are swears in it, for real.
-
What drugs? This is important. I'm tempted to create a list for every drug but I am kind of short on time at the moment and am just going to drop this as a general all purpose horrifying thing to see on most drugs
Doop - Doop (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=tvLDm8821jQ)
Anyone who could find this song anything apart from mindrendingly horrifying on drugs is a fucking monster
-
Wow. I'd forgotten that that song ever existed. Also, your post count right now is the year when it was number 1 in the charts. If I was on acid this would scare me a little.
-
My vote goes to "Psycho Buddha" by Acid Mothers Temple but I'm not sure if it can deal with some of the heavyweight mindfuckery going on here. I mean, it's 21 minutes of unrelenting chaotic freakout, but it's not chillingly terrfiying ... just really aurally abusive.
-
If you are saying that listening to insane chaotic aural assaults that scrape at your soul and terrify parts of you that you thought had been lost to evolution on acid is a bad thing to be avoided, we are having vastly differing LSD trips, because that and David Bowie albums are pretty much all I can listen to when I'm on that shit.
PS I have listened to that Doop song 7 times since I posted it, fuck this song is so good, I swear I used to own the album it was on but wikipedia is telling me it was the only song made by those dudes under that name.
-
Somehow when really baked I'd always freak the shit out of my friend by finding stoner metal songs with sirens in them.
-
I was thinking under the normal range of drugs a person might take who was not a junkie. Weed, E, speed, mescaline, acid, maybe ket.
-
The worst reaction I've ever had to music when on drugs was when my roommates decided we should smoke up while having a Radiohead marathon (The Bends through Kid A including interstitial EPs). By the time OK Computer was halfway through, I was having a huge paranoia attack.
Your reaction may vary.
-
Actually, OK Computer is one of my favourite albums to listen to on LSD.
The worst thing to listen to on drugs is techno. All of it. It makes you stupid.
-
personal experience, the worst thing to listen/do is watch late night TV while coming down. shit.
that doop song was pretty bad though. you know what i can't listen to while i'm rolling? bob marley.
-
If the X is good enough, I can listen to anything while on it because MAN, EVERYTHING IS SO BEAUTIFUL.
-
The worst thing to listen to on drugs is techno. All of it. It makes you stupid.
Listening to techno sober makes you stupid too.
-
i like all the same stuff sober or not.
i just like it alot more if i'm fucked up.
-

I vaguely remember an album as well, but it's likely that it was a series of radio edits, or remixes. They do that sometimes if a song is popular, because while you can generally charge $20.00 for a single, people won't buy it... normally.

Detroit techno, minimalist techno, or simply "I have no fucking clue what I'm talking about" techno?
-

-
So what about progressive trance? Deep house? Electro funk? "Nu skool breaks" or "speed garage" (whatever the hell those are)?
The point of the "I have no fucking clue what I'm talking about" option was that saying "techno" and meaning any of these things implies, well, not having a clue what you're talking about. What does "all of it" even mean? Anything with a 4/4 kickdrum beat?
-
I meant shit like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAni9GPZgDA&feature=related).
AUGH
-
Oh man, I know. One of my ex-girlfriends and her friends all listened to that shit in all languages. I couldn't stand it.
-
I Love Techno (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3r_Hot2wlY)
-
uh i dunno sleepytime gorilla museum?
-
When I grow up I'm never going to sleeeeeeep
Actually I'd probably dig that song on drugs.
-
I Love Techno (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3r_Hot2wlY)
Man I hope you are incredibly incorrect because otherwise I am going to have problems at Parklife. All "JAMES BROWN IS DEAD" and I freak out because nobody seems to be concerned about that.
Also posting to confirm that Sleepytime Gorilla Museum are a fucking fantastic band to get fucked up and listen to.
-
Yeah, if anyone disses anything related to Soulwax, I will arrange an elaborate series of events whereupon the finale results in said person's ears being shit into.

Generally, you can also consider any form of House, D&B, Trance, Slapping your stomach several times... techno.
It doesn't really matter if it's not techno, only that they're not sure what it is they're listening to. I've also heard it called "That disco shit."
I also like Special D, I'm one of five people over the age of 17 that enjoy Happy Hardcore. I don't listen to it, all the time, but I used to. I'm of the belief that the majority of people who make fun of it, probably used to like it.
-

AUGH
One of the chefs I used to KP under would play CD's of this stuff (including this actual song) all the time.
Then he got bowel cancer.
I think there is a lesson for us all here.
-
Though considering I listen to fucking Combichrist (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHl5EO77Rn4&feature=related) and Terrorfakt (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEOKZy1vwxE&feature=related) I don't think I can really preach about mindless electronic music.

I pretty much went onto YouTube and got the first example I could find. I was originally looking for this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQhZNn7OadI&feature=related).

Hamburger Lady - Throbbing Gristle

For sure, it's happy hardcore. There's ten-billion songs like it, each more and more insane. I just always think it's funny when people are like "I hate techno." and they all, somehow, post that song. Super funny.
-
Brother got raped by a chipmunk when he was in prison
he ain't been the same since.

Haha add to that :wumpscut: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MByVLThpfDw) and Suicide Commando (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-gp02VH2hM) and I am guilty of the same.
-
Much of anything by Scott Walker. That stuff is terrifying when you're stone sober (particularly if you're driving alone on a deserted country rode late late at night).
-
Hamburger Lady - Throbbing Gristle
Word.
Also Gantz Graf (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4ZwTUUue1w&feature=related) by Autechre.
-

You love this song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kol-C3H8I1Y), right?
I have not heard it before, and I'm not sure what she's saying, but it's not entirely offensive to my ears. I generally don't listen to this type of music in anything other than English. I'm not saying by any means that this is "awesome" music. I just like it.
-
ooh i thought of a good song not to listen to if you're on mushrooms or lsd.
unfortunately, i can't remember the name the song. i'm sure one of you knows it, it's an older M83 song that's like dialogue of a woman and her kid trying to escape a sadistic psycho father/ex-husband or something. it's fucking scary.
-
Yeah, Car Chase Terror. That song is freaky even when you're completely sober.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzrxRCsh268
-
sun ra - space is the place
AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH
-
Krzysztof Penderecki and György Ligeti would probably be awful on drugs.
-
Naked City - any of their stuff, but especially Leng T'che, the song about ancient Chinese torture. John Zorn is a sick fucker, but also a genius!
George Crumb - Black Angels - uploaded recently, scary as hell, about the Vietnam War.
Burzum - War - "War, huh, wow!" - his screaming would be unbearable
-
Man, I loooove listening to Burzum when I'm high.
-
Current 93 - Black Ships Ate the Sky (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9q1FomLSkw)
Really, I can't think of much worse. Any dissenters?
Not sure I can top this, but;
Converge - Pheonix in Flames (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89STRv9_0Ys) Only 40 seconds, so it won't wear you down in the way Black Ships will, but I would stay away from this if I was on anything besides weed.
Khanate - Too Close Enough to Touch (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qNwJkZuhFU) Might just be a winner. Although the version on youtube is three minutes shorter than the track should be, but that doesn't really matter.
-
Yeah, Car Chase Terror. That song is freaky even when you're completely sober.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzrxRCsh268
Yeah, I can barely listen to that sober.
See also: Xu Xu Fang's Los Angeles During the Winter of '99. I remember not liking that.
-
Oddly enough listening to Tim Hecker (who's probably my favourite ambient dude) made me all freak out when I was stoned and it was on very loud.
Also, Khanate and Wormphlegm, but that's a given, right?
-
The Current 93 album is choice, but I've never listened while on drugs. I discovered them after the drug phase. Such is life I suppose.
I'm only guessing here, but I'd say maybe Coil's Hellraiser themes would be not the best idea, or perhaps Tear Garden's "The Gift Of Knowledge" off their latest, The Secret Experiment.
-
I know listening to their one song "Red Birds Will Fly Out of the East and Destroy Paris in a Night" on 4 hits of acid made me think an hour had passed. I was playing with the visualizer on the Xbox 360 and forgot I was controlling it, and started looking around to see who had the controller, when it was me the whole time.
-
I'm the weirdo that loves listening to Fantomas while tripping.
once while on mushrooms, a few of my hippie friends insisted on putting in Mr. Bungle's Disco Volante and listened to the entire thing. they were pretty shocked, but hey, I warned them.
-
OKAY. Let's just say that any song which is sung in any language that thickly emphasizes consonantal sound is ruled as a bad choice for the "temporarily chemically-impaired". Ruled out now, move along.
Also, I think if you were to listen to "This Cocaine Makes Me Feel Like I'm On This Song" by System of a Down while stoned you'd basically have to get your soberness back with a machete and nerves of steel. It's an obvious choice, but it works.
-

There's two distinct 'sorts' of Coil, 'Moon Music' and 'Sun Music'.
Let's just say you might have had a different reaction if you'd listened to Tainted Love (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eo3TUtRnZi4) or The First Five Minutes After Violent Death (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJTYIa1X06U).
Digging through my youtube favourites to find those has reminded me of some other nominees actually. Neither of these videos is SFW (particularly the second), and would particularly enhance the wrongness of listening to these songs whilst under the influence of perception-altering substances:
Nurse With Wound - I've Plummed This Whole Neighbourhood (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmmR9OJWV0I&feature=related)
The Legendary Pink Dots - The Flesh Parade (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPVc66stdFk)
-
You're right. I would've changed songs, because they're boring. I have a hard time paying attention to anything slow on acid because of the time dilation.
-
Man, have you listened to Red Birds Will Fly Out of the East and Destroy Paris in a Night sober?
-
Yes, several times.
-
Revolution 9, definitely. I thought I was going to go insane.
-
I think that Zaireeka would be quite the experience whilst chemically altered, Motzarts Requium has a tendency to fuck me up something horrible whilst altered too.
-
My buddy is a huge fan of all sorts of trance. I find it to be really boring and easy to ignore when we are sober. However, when we are fucked up it is terrifying. At first it's all happy, and then all of sudden you are listening to the pounding trance beat over the sounds of some woman screaming and a circular saw being used. It's like listening to Hostel or any Saw movie besides the first one.
He also has some video mixing equipment which he likes to use to surprise us with pictures of scary clowns and other tomfoolery.
-
Forgot to mention, but Arcade Fire's Neon Bible has a nasty tendency to do weird things to me for some reason.
-
Hamburger Lady - Throbbing Gristle
Word.
Also Gantz Graf (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4ZwTUUue1w&feature=related) by Autechre.
Gantz Graf as song is pretty tame by Autechre standards... but I can't even imagine that video D:
