A friend from one of my classes and I are having an ongoing argument about which version of The Devil Went Down to Georgia is the best. The four versions in question are:
Original, by Charlie Daniels band (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDm_ZHyYTrg)
Version by Primus (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FRtkek-Et4)
Metal version by Steve Ouimette (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbFfNEFMeb4)
Sequel to the original (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03oSDPuxbwA) by Charlie Daniels, Mark O'Connor, Johnny Cash, Travis Tritt and Marty Stuart
I think the original is the best, followed by the sequel, then a huge gap, then the metal and finally Primus. He thinks the metal version is the best followed by the Primus, then the original two. I think he's nucking futs. Which of us do you think is right?

I thought this was going to be a Devin Townsend thread. :(
*Edit* and now that the title typo's been fixed, this post makes no sense.

Johnny Cash for real. The original is mighty close. Although I haven't heard the two others.

The Devil went down to Skunthorpe (sp) by the Toy Dolls.

There was one on the Guitar Hero (3 i think) game too. I still voted for the original tho.

Yes, the GH3 was the Ouimette version. I didn't care for that one much, as it didn't really match the spirit of the original, but it was still better than the Primus.

I agree, it just felt...wrong. I've never heard the Primus one though.

Well, it's linked above if you for some reason want to.
