Dude. DUDE. Best science-fiction series ever. (Hitchhiker's notwithstanding.) With the success that AMC has had recently, I can see this being incredibly awesome.

This could be good. Or it could be awful. Red Mars is one of my favorite books, and I'm hesitant to see it filmed because I would be disappointed if it were bad. At least they're doing it as a series instead of as just a movie. The story is too complex, in my opinion, to explore in a 2 hour movie.

I highly recommend the trilogy to anyone who wants to read dense, highly-intricate and incredibly researched near-future sci-fi. If I had time, I'd read the books for a 4th time right now.

It is truly a fantastic series. Hugo award-winning (Red and Blue Mars, I believe), too. Read it if you want to get wrapped up in a fantastic series.
