Title: love song medley dance pop style
Post by: snalin on 11 Oct 2008, 13:49
I'm working on a project at the moment, a dance/drama performance based on love, the charity "love all" kind. You don't really have any good word for it. A wikipedia search translates "nestekjærlighet" to "Charity (virtue)", but...

Anyways, towards the end we are going to include a really fun and powerful dance, and the music is going to be a medley of different pop songs, all about love. Problem is, we've been listening to way to little old-school pop lately, and we cannot really come up with any good. We want stuff in the style of:

Haddaway - What is love
4tops - Sugarpie Honeybunch
Aha - Take on me
Across the Universe - I've just seen your face

Any ideas for more songs of the same style?

Maybe I'm missing something or I'm just a bad person or whatever but 69 Love Songs just feels about 60 songs too long.

It depends for everyone I guess. In that record I can probably find 20 absolutely fantastic songs, 30 that are just really good, about 10 that are not noteworthy, 5 bad ones and 4  worthless novelties.
I also think that it is very rare the band that writes 5 absolutely fantastic songs in their entire careers.
