Going ahead and ignoring the OP except for the pictures-

A) Man, I thought Quinto would make a really good Spock, but all I see is Sylar still.

B) I think they made them all too young. It kind of looks more like Teen Star Trek now.

Oh well. I still have some faith in Abrams and some hope for this movie.

The amount of airbrushing that must've gone into that magazine cover is horrifying.

EDIT: also, I see the women of Star Trek are still dressing like it's the 1960s.

i can see it now
"o hay did u c that knew movie o wat is it cawled?...uhhh star trek?"
"o ya chek owt mi fly shert"
just like transformers and TMNT.
i can see it in the near future, Power Rangers movie remake.

Um. Not a remake? More of a prequel. All I have to say.

It's sort of both and neither.

That magazine cover looks incredibly inhuman.  I'm probably going to avoid this as I'm not really a huge Star Trek fan.  Man they look plastic.

This kind of looks retarded as fuck but Sylar-Spock could make it worth watching.

I'll support this if Sylar(Zachary Quinto) can successfully transition over to being a film star or further his career in general. And don't judge a movie by its cover(on a magazine). When do magazines not look fake? Though I admit the decision to keep original looking costumes and federation standard haircuts troubles me. At least the set looks pretty freakin' cool, but only serves to make them look out of place in it.

Apparently the entire movie is going to be as cheesy/campy feeling as the the original series. I am excited.

Just remember that Star Trek's special effects were cutting edge for a tv show in the mid/late sixties....

Of course it was cheesey.  In twenty or so years what we do now will be "quaint and so cheesy"

Man, now I want to go to the 2050s and watch a movie made in a campy turn-of-the-millennium retro futuristic style.

Is it because he's choking that guy?  I think it's because he's choking that guy.  That's a Sylar thing to do.

Pretty sure he's choking Kirk. And indeed, that is his evil "I'm going to kill you because i have no control la la la" face.

I'm trying to agree with you. Every rational bit of my brain says to agree with you, but oh gawd, my sister brought that magazine over and holy shit.

Honestly, the dude playing Kirk is 28, but he just doesn't look old enough. I am not sure if this is just because of the trend towards actors playing much younger roles in movies and TV or whether they just made him look young as fuck, but I'm a little disappointed.

One thing I do really like about this though is how they have updated the look of the bridge but how you just know it will look as equally dated and ridiculous to people in 30 years time as TOS does to us now.

Still looking forward to it though, I have good feelings about this movie.

I'm really looking forward to this, but I'm sure that I'll just end up being disappointed. Magazine articles are always a little strange to be honest, so I'll give it a chance for now!

I first heard about this movie imdbstalking simon a couple months ago. I'll watch pretty much anything he is in. Also the kid from Charlie Bartlett is Chekov.
