Title: Mother 3 Translation Patch Complete
Post by: Storm Rider on 17 Oct 2008, 10:41: Over 2 years after its Japanese release, the GBA sequel to 1995's SNES classic Earthbound has been fully translated into English by a small group of intrepid, hardworking dudes. It's available for download at their site (http://mother3.fobby.net/), but you'll still need a ROM to apply the patch to. I won't provide any links to those due to their questionable legality, but they're very easy to find. The patching client is extremely simple and fast, and I haven't booted the game up beyond the title screen yet but it sure as hell is in English now.

Earthbound may be my favorite game of all time and I am so happy that these guys have given me the chance to play Mother 3, they worked really hard in their spare time and would not even accept donations for their trouble. It's extremely generous of them and we should all be thankful!

Now I just have to figure out how I'm going to balance this with all the other games coming out...

I (fickle as i am) couldnt ever get past the not being able to see yourself in RPGs such as this and the dragon warrior series. From what I've gathered, i've missed out on one of the best snes (and just in general) games ever.

Pardon me for finding this hilarious on a forum which has a thread with hudreds of links to illegal downloads of albums. :lol:

(Though of course you're right, ten seconds with Google will get you the ROM.)

I'm using it too, but on PC w/ no problems. Wish I could help. :-(

Actually, I do have a tiny bit of advice there. I think the game reads when you release the button, not when you press it. I've had a lot more luck after figuring that out, but I still can't do much better than 4-5 hits.
