A bit disappointed in that overly contrived resolution to Will and Penelope's relationship. Not too mention Will's broken arm conveniently disappearing.
Would have been better to just move into the new season, and pick up on the relationship (or non-relationship) there.

Someone is complaining that jeph is bending reality again haha
Also nobody said the relationship was over.

You seem to be under the impression that this is a TV show - most likely some type of soap opera.
You are mistaken.
-
Huh -- I thought it was funny, a clever way to evolve the relationship ('cause the only option I'd imagined was just bits of conversation scattered across weeks... not nearly as interesting; now we've got a character exploring the QC version of the US for us!) and didn't even notice the suddenly-healed arm (though, wait... isn't this also the first comic in the new season? so some time has passed?).
Though I suppose I am confused to see that winter arrives between Monday's & Tuesday's strips.

I would be thrilled to see Penny go with Wil- instead of asking "...when will you be back?" or whatever it is that she asks, she's go "I'm coming with you!" and just pick up an helmet from under the counter and ride with him. Then the guys at Coffee of Doom would get postcards of both- the two versions of each situation they'd get into would be interesting to compare!
-
another good reason for Penny to go away is Dora's going back to blond... there are too many blonds already!!

"I can't spell VW but I've got a Porsche! Cuz I'm a Blonde, Yeah, yeah, yeah!"
Sorry, that's about all the musical interlude yer gonna get outta me.
Besides, I can see this story arc going many different ways for Jeph. He's left options WIDE OPEN.
Good for him.

What do you mean? He still has a cast on it.

For the first part, no, the new season hasn't arrived yet because you can see Penelope getting ready to apologize about their whole religion debate from the other day, so only a couple days passed.
Winter was supposed to arrive Friday but I believe Jeph mentioned in his Twitter that he forgot about Wil and Penelope and needed to close out their arc before jumping forward.
What do you mean? He still has a cast on it.
Uh, no he doesn't. My guess is that a) his fracture wasn't too serious and some time passed between the hospital visit and the picnic, or b) Jeph forgot/doesn't care. Either way works for me.

I'm guessing you didn't actually pay attention to the comic, otherwise you would have seen that he does in fact have a cast on his arm.

Ah, good catch. I was paying attention, but I guess not enough attention. I expected there to be a sling and everything.

Ah, that makes sense then. Regarding the cast, Jason's probably right -- Wil discarded the sling but kept the (not very bulky or restrictive) cast... I had thought that was just his shirt sleeve. I can go with that, though I don't envy the guy a long motorcycle ride with a recently broken arm. Not just a crack, either; it was a break that needed to be set (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1256). Ouch. Even a small break takes minimum 4 weeks to heal; it's only been a few days.
Related: what's that white thing in the center of Wil's glasses? I thought it was tape from the accident, but these are different from the glasses *after* the bike crash (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1259) but *before* the lunch date & bear (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1284).

Something to make his glasses more comfortable? Makes him a hardcore nerd.

I suspect Wil went on walkabout because:
- Jeph wanted to do it with someone
- We'd scream bloody murder if any major cast member left on a trip
- Wil is, in many ways the closest thing to an ingénue (I remember Breathed sent Opus, his ingénue, a'wanderin' and then 'killed' him off, only to have Opus show up later with amnesia) to do the Candide thing to. I know there's Hanners, but I don't think she's up for a roadtrip. Greasy spoon cafés are dirty, dirty, dirty places
-
Sort of unrelated but you know... a roadtrip arc with the main cast would be pretty awesome.

Earth Girls Are Easy! Oh my God I thought I was the only person in the world who saw that movie! (Unless I still am and you are quoting something else that has the exact same song)
