Share the journey of a 5 billion mile trek to the outer limits of our solar system. Hear the beautiful songs of the planets. The complex interactions of the cosmic plasma of the universe, charged electromagnetic particles from the solar wind, planetary magnetosphere, rings and moons create vibration "soundscapes" which are at once utterly alien and deeply familiar to the ear. Some of these sounds are hauntingly like human voices singing, giant Tibetan bowls, wind, waves, birds and dolphins. Many are familiar in a way unique for each listener.
Voyager has left our Solar System forever. The sounds on this recording will never be made again in our lifetime........."

A bit more info on the creation of these tunes here:

Best field recordings ever, best ambient drone ever. Pretty much the best music ever? It's kind of sad that a few large bodies of gas and rock can create better music then mankind, but there you have it.

-
This is freaking cool.
-
awesome. i've listened to some space sounds before and they are pretty sweet.
definitely downloading this later.
-
whats .flac?
A lossless compression - about 50% the size of the full wave file.
-
This sounds like one of those things that is interesting only in concept...but, I like that kind of thing.
Will download asap.
-
Man, I am trying to remember, does winamp play flac files? I'd be annoyed if i had to acquire audacity or something just to listen to this. But then, i guess i should probably get audacity anyways. hmm.
-
FLAC is open source, so there are plugins. Google flac winamp plugin and the internet shall provide.
I just use foobar2000, anyways.
-
foobar2000 is probably the best music player for windows, or, really, for any computer.
Plays pretty much every audio format, only thing you need to download is the lame mp3 encoder to rip CDs.

my winamp plays flac. no plugins needed.
-
I think they added that in some of the later versions, but if you're using legacy versions, there's still plug-ins.
-
My itunes is not opening this ... ... is there the slightest chance it could be made to mp3 and uploaded?...
-
You can play it with VLC, if you're on a Mac.
But shit, this is awesome!
-
My winamp plays it.
I've listened to the first one. And it's amazing.
-
I'm on the third one, and it's great. I might overlay theses all on top of each other and see what I get...
-
Man, those fuckers! I did this five years ago!
