mediafire thread has helped my library grow 4x its size
feeling very generous
-
Black/Death/Doom metal
If you insist.
But, I think it would be a waste of a thread to be honest.
-
all im saying is its far too often that the MF thread gets stuck in a vivaldi streak for 2 days
-
I like all of those genres, but I don't see the need for a thread dedicated to sharing any of them in particular. Just put up whatever you want on the existing thread.
-
The mediafire thread will not be genre specific.
-
The mediafire thread would be more entertaining if it had ridiculous new rules each day.
"Today you can only upload albums that begin with the letter "C"."
"Today, band names must contain three instances of the letter A."
"Do not post today if your first name contains more than two different vowels."
"Today is 1981."
"Today we are playing 3 degrees from Kevin Bacon."
Uploads would be worth points and we'd announce a winner at the end of each week.
*sigh*
If only.
-
Why couldn't we have ridiculous rules? What's stopping it?
-
Yeah, see, we've touched on this before. The purpose of the mediaf!re thread isn't filesharing in the sense that it is a place where you look for albums you're looking for. Blog searches and Sordo are excellent both excellent for this. The mediaf!re thread is a place where you share music you want other people on the forum to hear, where you can expand your own taste and help expand the music taste of others. Dedicating a thread to one single genre defeats the entire purpose.
This is why. The thread is not a competition, its to make others familiar with music you think they might like.
-
I suppose. I doubt turning it into a game would seriously threaten the ability of the thread to make good music available to anyone who wants it.
-
I think a cool thing to do would be to have one thread for just the albums being uploaded, and then one for comments on the albums being uploaded. It'd be less cluttered that way.
-
I like that idea. People don't comment enough on the albums posted on the mediafire thread.
-
Yeah, it's always just "hey I like X" (which isn't exactly helpful because everything is liked by at least one person) or people asking to re-up or some dumbarse requesting an album. (or some dumbarse stating that they know requesting is not allowed, but if someone just happens to own X then could they upload it)
-
I do often feel like we don't have a place where we can talk about the music
-
X was an excellent band jens.
-
none of the above
-
X was an X-ellent band jens.

I did a post once where the last three words of every album in the post were "goes to college".
Of course, it was just the Descendants and Dave Brubeck.
-
aight im sending the shoegaze one up once i get time.
the purpose of the thread isnt to organize MF but rather offer a place for people to discuss the albums they download, the genre that they come in, and share other artists that they enjoy.
First up will be

Souvlaki- Slowdive
Loveless (cover album)- Japancake
